Noticing even the smallest things could save lives.

Just an ordinary day in a crowded neighborhood of the town of Nova, where people are shopping going about their lives, and living in their non-suburbs homes. Sonya, the woman who goes unnoticed but knows everyone, was walking through the neighborhood and strolled upon a heart-shaped locket that she had seen on the ground. However, instead of picking it up she looked at it and said, "I feel your pain what is living if you never noticed". She decided to leave it and hope that whoever lost the heart-shaped locket will find it.

Days went by and no one ever came to claim the heart-shaped locket. It was left out in the rain as if it was waiting to rust. Until one day old man Jim came along and seen the locket. Jim likes to collect rare items for his shop. Once he picked up the heart-shaped locket he began to see things that no one else have ever seen. He began to see what the future holds. Suddenly there was flying saucers, aliens walking around as the people of Nova Town once did, buildings that was there was no longer. Only hilltops of tombstones ,belonging to the names of the people of Nova, that went on for miles. The old man was spooked seeing all these new things. He suddenly dropped the locket and vanished. No one realized old man Jim was gone. He never had any children or siblings, just a shop that he cherished. He had no friends, just the residents that made purchases at his store. Everyone has simply thought he had closed up shop.

The heart-shaped locket reappeared back in the same place as though it was never touched. Until sue a woman that was a florist and had worked at a shop three blocks away, picks up the locket hoping to have it cleaned and given as a gift. As she picked up the locket, she got a glimpse of what once again the future will bring.  What she saw was water falling from the sky like raindrops, but it never hit the ground. It was though it has stopped in mid air. The trees begins blowing and swaying from side to side as if there was a tornado in the area, but the clouds was as beautiful as a sunny day. The sky was more crystal than clear. There was no people and no aliens, just her all alone in a town that was once known as Nova. Tears begin to fall from her eyes and suddenly she felt a high case of anxiety and dropped the heart-shaped locket. Suddenly her too ,along with Jim, had vanished. The locket fell making the sound as if someone was dropping keys. There it remained amongst the town of Nova, waiting for another day.

About a week pass since the first two disappearances and Sonya was walking along the neighborhood. She noticed that old man Jim shop had never reopened and  that the florist shop, where Sue had worked, was short staffed. At first she didn't think anything of it. Just that old man Jim had closed up shop likely due to his old age and Sue had possibly quit her job. But as more and more days went by, more and more people started to vanish. The town was starting to look like a ghost town. The few people that was left was speaking to Sonya as if they have been friends their whole life.

No one but Sonya noticed because she no longer existed but yet started to live becoming more and more noticeable from the local residents. After embracing the moment that everyone seem to know her, she had forgotten the feeling of ever being invisible. The heart-shaped locket remain on the ground about ten feet from the stop sign where Sonya was walking.  As she approached it she looked, smiled, and spoke to the locket as if it was another being. "Don't worry someone will notice you and you'll have your day", said Sonya. Sonya carried on  ,as she reached her apartment and went inside, she had a warm sip of tea and prepared for another day.

The next day Sonya went out for breakfast and she noticed that there was more people missing. She passed by a billboard that listed all the missing people in the current neighborhood. She began to wonder, "where is all these people". "Why is everyone leaving this town."  Suddenly it began to rain. As the clouds grew darker and thunder begin to sound off in a distance, She thought to herself, " I need to make my way home".

On her way home she she stopped by the heart-shaped locket and it appeared to be sparkling clean as if it was brand new. She said unto the locket,  "How did you get clean". "Who cleaned you and put you back". "Was they not impressed with your remarkable golden shine?" She noticed that the locket was engraved. What she seen on this locket was mind blowing. It read, "Sonya".  As she reached down to pick up the locket, it spoke to her. She heard a voice telling her,  "Yes! They was all impressed." "Why wasn't you?" "They needed you." "Save Them".

What she saw was not the future, but the past. She saw what seemed to be a star flashing, falling from the sky, and landing in their town. She also saw that everyone noticed the heart shaped locket and attempted to pick it up, leading to their disappearance and causing the locket to look newer. She then saw herself ignoring the locket each day and telling it it will have it's day. What she didn't count on was today being that day. She suddenly heard another voice telling her, "Save them" and to "Wear the locket". All of a sudden she seen the brightest light anyone has ever seen and she and everyone was back in the town of Nova, where it all began.

She stopped looked at it and picked it up to place around her neck. There the heart shaped locket hung and glistened like no other. Sonya reached her apartment ,went inside, and had a warm sip of tea and she sat waiting for another day...... To Be Continued.
