An unhealthy obsession with IKEA furniture.
John's obsession with Ikea furniture knew no bounds. Every weekend, he'd lose himself in the labyrinth of showrooms, imagining his home transformed into a Scandinavian wonderland.
But his fixation came at a cost. Bills piled up, and debt loomed like a shadow. His wife, Emily, pleaded for restraint, but John's ardor for Billy bookcases and Ektorp sofas blinded him.
One evening, after an argument over yet another delivery, Emily's patience snapped. She couldn't take it anymore. Tearfully, she packed her bags and left.
John's apartment, once filled with laughter, now echoed with the hollow hum of fluorescent lights. Surrounded by flat-packed regrets, he realised he'd traded happiness for particleboard dreams.
Desperation forced John to confront his obsession. He sold his excess furniture, one piece at a time, to pay off his debts. As each item left, a weight lifted, and clarity returned.
Over time (but not without some convincing), Emily returned, cautiously hopeful. She found a transformed space, simple and uncluttered. John had learned his lesson, and with humility, he asked for forgiveness.
They rebuilt their home together, piece by piece, this time with love as the foundation. Ikea held a new meaning for John – a reminder that happiness wasn't found in furniture, but in the bonds that held them close.

Just because screws can hold things together, doesn't mean that they can't screw things up. He bought all that furniture trying to piece together his dream home. Yet, it fell apart. Through getting rid of it all, and getting himself out of the grave he dug, just like the furniture, John and Emily put their relationship back together, piece-by-piece.
The resolution of the story is a reminder of the importance of priorities and the value of meaningful connections over material possessions

Now this has to make it into the dictionary!
