If you could spot smoke coming from a house a mile away you still wouldn't be able to see this story coming. I'm going to tell you of the tales of the two sweet old women. Who always have something cooking. And their clueless son who's story ends at his beginning. And the days that they are faced in a world who still needs a lot of healing. But they're just trying to get by, just two old witchy women.

"Is Joe supposed to be coming by today?" Merriem asks as she pulls something out from the cupboard. "How come you never start with the stuff I like when you make stew?" Melanie replied as she sit on her leisurely chair on their side porch covered in the most greenery you've probably ever seen. Merriem smirked and said something under her breath "What was that dear?" asked Melanie, Oh nothing. "It's just I thought you liked raven tongue?" Merriem explains as she takes the raven tongue and pores it into the pot. "You know I've never liked that stuff". Melanie replies as she continues to read her book. Merrium smiles a big smile "Well I do" she whispered. "What was that dear?" asked Melanie. "Nothing dear". Melanie suddenly hears a car screeching around the corner a block away, it sounds big and loud , and in this small of a neighborhood she knows that could only mean one thing. "Quick he's here!" Yells Melanie. Merriem ever so calmly starts to put away her fixings and Melanie is frantically waving the smell out the door with her little arms "Hurry get out the tuna salad and white bread". Merriem reaches in the fridge and pulls out the leftovers from the last time he was here. they both here the Honda sedan pull up and a door slam. "Must he always be so loud" Merriem grumbles. "Hush before he hears you, you know how sensitive he is". Merriem gives Melanie a huge side eye and Mealine just waves her off and starts heading down the stairs. "Joe!, we missed you so much!" She reaches both arms up to give him a hug. "Ma! I missed you too". He reaches both arms under his mom and gives her a big hard squeeze. "Ma you got to be careful though I just bought this suite it coast me like 6k and part of China". He brushes off his new suite with both hands while Melanie just looks at him in awe. "where's mama M.?" Joe asked. "Oh she's inside she's excited to see you too". Joe walks up the steps and sees Merriem spreading the tuna salad on the white bread "aw my favorite!, did you guys know I was coming?". "We just like it too". Says Melanie as she pulls out a chair at the table for him to sit down. "So, 6k huh?, that's a lot to spend on a suite". Merriem says as she looks up from spreading the tuna and smiles as she looks him in the eyes. "Yeah It was, and I feel like the bad guy for the deal I had to close to get it". Merriem smirked a little and Melanie kicked her in the leg, Merrium made a small grunt but Joe didn't even notice. "And what deal was that dear?". Melanie asks. "We had to take from a small company and give to a bigger one that's growing faster and gaining more popularity and uh I mean we made a lot of money but a lot of people had to loose their jobs". Melanie and Merriem both looked at each other with concern. "Well it's okay you were just doing your job". Melanie says as she reaches out to touch her sons arm. "Yeah, you're right, thanks ma I knew I could count on you!". He stands up and grabs his coat. "Well I just stopped by to make sure you guys were doing alright, do you need anything?". He looks at his moms with the face like a child "No dear we will be fine". Melanie walks her son to the door and gives him one more big hug goodbye. "Is he gone?". Asks Meeriem. "Ohh hush you know you love that boy". "Didin't say I didn't love him mel, were did you say you put the sage again?". She asks as she puts down the tuna sandwich and reaches in the cupboards searching for their emergency sage stash "It's in the top right corner".
