It wasn’t hard to see that they had instant chemistry. As soon as their eyes met in the bar, it was more than just a physical attraction. He felt his heart blast off when she smiled at him. The fireworks exploded loud in his ears when he heard her soft voice. There was something about her that set her apart from any other woman he had ever met. To any normal man, she was nothing special, just your average woman. But to him, she was so much more. The instant she stepped into his atmosphere, it was her that he revolved around. There was no way he would walk out of this bar without her.

As the night drew on, he had barely gotten up the nerve to talk to her. His brother had carried on the conversation leaving him to only give his input here and there. No way could someone like her be interested in him. She deserved so much more. Perhaps his brother could give her what she needed, be the one to give her the love and care that she deserved. She seemed to like his younger brother well enough and the two got along well enough. But when last call rolled around and the three of them were getting ready to leave, it was him that she came up to. She had rested her hand against his arm, bringing her lips to his ear and whispering softly. “Don’t leave without me. I’m not done with you yet.” The statement had made the strong gravely man a graceless mess.

When he stepped out alone, he couldn’t imagine his luck. He hadn’t been his usual charming, suave self. He had been either silent or a bumbling mess around her. The moment she stepped out after a few moments, he grabbed her by the hand and pulled her into him. He wasn’t going to let the moment pass this time. Her lips were curled in a tight-lipped grin as if she expected this and had been waiting all night for it. Her hands rested against his chest as he stared into her eyes, the dim lighting causing her eyes to sparkle like fire. He could have stood like that just staring at her but it wasn’t enough.

He closed the distance, the first to initiate the kiss. Her arms moved to grasp around his neck and all air was sucked from his lungs as she returned the kiss with fervor. Everything came up HER, her sounds, her smells, her taste, her touch, she overwhelmed him and he knew right then this was only the beginning. Their lips pulled away briefly so they could catch their breath both licking their lips and giving a smile. “If I asked you out, do you think this could be a thing that would last for a while?”

She didn’t answer him with words but gave him a bright coy smile. That moment, he felt the most alive he had ever felt. Her smile gave him life, she gave him air. His mind couldn’t help but imagine where a life with her would lead. He knew barely anything about her but the possibilities were endless. He wanted her and she clearly wanted him and it was sending his heart into overdrive. His head was overwhelmed so all he could imagine at that moment was kissing her more. And so he did, his arms tightening around her middle and his lips pressing fiercely against hers as if she might disappear if he let go.

It was the wee hours of the morning, the sun had set long ago. The stars twinkled in the night sky, the moon barely visible. Soft music played from the car's radio as the two of them held each other and danced slowly to the sound. The stars cast a glow in their eyes as they stared at each other as if they were the only ones in existence. And to each other they were.

It was almost as if love was ignited late that night. The sparks between them like a burning ball of light. There was no denying that this was something he had never experienced. This was their first night together and instead of taking her back to his motel room, he had driven her out into the country. Instead of making her just another one-night fling, he decided to dance with her under the starlit sky. Her beauty outshone any star, her love more powerful than any rocket shot into space. With her, he was alive, he could imagine a better life.

That night, he would make love to her, the touch of their skin lighting a fire within him. They laid under the stars, the sounds of the countryside, the light of daybreak coming over the rolling hills. They would explore each other’s bodies under the watchful eyes of the stars above. They would burst with love and explode with ecstasy together. And from that moment on, they knew that this was forever.
