When they broke apart, they both grinned, panting slightly.

"Mmm," Caro hummed. "That was better than last time making out sessions."

Clark chuckled. "That wasn't bad either."

"See?" she grinned. "Perfection is not impossible."

"I guess not. And don't forget that you're pretty amazing yourself. Not perfect. Just beautiful in every way," he told her. She blushed at his compliments and he brushed a stray hair away from her face. "Now that we're done discussing perfection, what should we do today?"

"We could go for a walk?"

"A nice walk?"

"Yeah," Caro smiled, nodding her head enthusiastically. "But maybe first we should start heading towards the riverbank?"

She stood up slowly from the ground and waited for Clark to get up.

"Ok," he said, wrapping his arm around her waist. He gave her waist a squeeze and kissed the top of her head.

Caro giggled and placed her hand over his. They continued walking hand in hand, following the same path they walked together the previous day.

When they finally reached the banks of the river, they sat down under a tree and talked quietly, letting the peaceful atmosphere calm their hearts and minds.

Caro and her family travelled to their hometown for the holidays and throughout the journey, Caro couldn't stop thinking about Clark. Every time she thought about their kiss, she would blush slightly and giggle silently whenever she remembered how sweet the kiss tasted.

Every time she closed her eyes, she could imagine Clark's soft lips against hers, his deep brown eyes looking into hers lovingly, and every time she dreamed about him, she could hear his voice whispering in her ear.

Every moment she was with him, she swore that she fell in love with him even more. And every single thing he did made her fall in love with him even more. She couldn't believe it sometimes; but the more she learned about him, the more she began to understand that the boy she knew and loved was real.

The day finally came when they arrived in their hometown. The moment the car stopped in the driveway, Caro rushed out of the car excitedly, followed by her parents and brother.

As soon as everyone made it inside, Caro immediately sprinted towards the stairs. All she wanted was to call Clark and tell him that she had gotten to her hometown safely.

Her parents watched her run upstairs with smiles on their faces, and then she disappeared behind a bedroom door, closing it behind her.

"What a wonderful girl," her mother sighed happily.

"Indeed." her father agreed. "She has never been happier since the day she met Clark."

"Me neither," her mother added. "I can't wait to watch her grow up, become a beautiful young lady and marry someone very much like him."

"I think that will happen one day."

Caro's father chuckled. "You mean when she marries Clark."

"Well..." her mother trailed off. "I suppose that is the only way we'll ever see Clark and Caro together."

"It'll come."

The days flew by quickly and before Caro knew it, the three weeks holiday was almost over but she wasn't really happy about it like she should be. Of course, after the holiday is over she'd get to see Clark which should make her happy but it was quite the opposite being that during the first week, she and Clark spoke well and frequently on the phone. After the first-week communication dropped drastically which saddens her. Clark didn't call frequently as he used to and he doesn't pick up her calls. Anytime she asked he'd say he has been really busy. She knew deep down that something was wrong somewhere "but what could it be?" she asked herself.
