Dawn broke in delicate hues as hunger gnawed at me; a reminder of empty bellies back home. Amid the waking of the forest, I hunkered, arrow poised, eyes piercing the green curtain ahead.
A stag, regal, stepped into the clearing. Majestic antlers its crown, eyes a mirror of the wild. Poised, I hesitated as it danced, a ballet with the dawn light. I found myself disarmed.
Rising, I prepared for return. Yet, hidden in the brush, a nest - nature's gift to a humbled hunter. An offering from the silent gods, ensuring no one went hungry today.
