Goodbye, Dreamboat
Friday 28th June, Story #180/366
Last week, I tried my wife's DreamFix machine again. I'm not sure why. To reassure myself? Surely it would be a different man in her dreams each time. Someone good-looking, but random. No threat.
I set up the machine, enabled SleepAssist, and let myself be pulled, inexorably, into sleep. There he was again! The exact same guy. I bristled. Wanted to yell at him, threaten. Throw a punch, maybe. Stay away from my wife! What good would it do? This was just a dream. He wasn't really here, whoever he was.
Instead, I held tight to my curiosity, and used that to keep me there longer, find out more. Just how unfaithful did she dream of being?
That was the plan anyway. Sorry, I have nothing against gay folks, but it's not for me. There was only so long I could tolerate him pawing at me before my revulsion got the better of me.
It's just a crush though, right? That's allowed. Daydreaming, fantasies. Indulging in them, wondering what it might be like. That's all this is. It doesn't mean she has any serious feelings for him.
I wish I hadn't snooped. It changed the way I saw her. When she went to bed early, or slept late. Napped. I couldn't help thinking, She's going to be with him.
"I just want to sleep, Mikey," took on a different, heavier meaning. When she rolled away from me, closed her eyes, turned out the light... that started to eat at me as well. Normal things, that she'd always done. Part of our routine. Now it all looked suspicious.
Yesterday, I went to try it out again, only to find she'd added a password. Did she know what I'd done? How? A wall of unspoken words was growing between us. I wanted to confront her, but what could I say? I'd have to admit I'd snooped in the worst way.
Was she sleeping more? Could I insist she stop using the DreamFix? She did look like she was losing weight...
So I sabotaged it. Tried to make it look like an accident. Spilt a drink on it, and pulled some wires loose.
Goodbye, Dreamboat, you smug bastard.

Uh oh... it feels like there is going to be some horrible accident that happens...
Nice lively vibes mix with tec!
People get jealous even if it’s just a fantasy man. I do not know if I would be jealous of a dream
I was hoping he'd just leave her. But sabotaging that machine was pretty good too. I hope what he did ruined it though.
Is Dreamfix a gateway drug to the real thing? Not a suggestion or anything … just wondering.
oooo intrigue! i love the tech concept, too. well done, yet again!
Y’all should do a 3- some.
Somehow, it feels that it's not the end of it. The wife will have it fixed if it's such a big part of her life now.
