Flashdrive

"Kenn look what I found in the desk we brought!" I yell as I pick up the red USB.

I stare at it, wondering what could be saved here.

Kenn comes running over and says "What did you find?".

I lift the red USB up and show it to him.

"A USB?" He says sounding uninterested.

I stare at him still holding the USB up in the air. "Come on! Aren't you the bit curious to know what's in it?"

I tell him as I lower my hand and turn the USB around.

On the back was an insignia or etched drawing of what appeared to be a skull.

I run my finger over it as Kenn hovers over me. "Oh that is amazing!" He said as he touched the skull. He then quickly said "What if it's porn? Like some cheesy porn?"

I resisted the urge to laugh at him wondering when we traveled back to our last year of high school.

"Really Kenn? Porn?" I tell him as the thought entered my mind. Maybe it was porn.

"I'm just saying." Kenn says as he puts his hands up.

"There's only one way to find out what is on that USB. And that's to plug it in and look at it." He went to get his laptop.

"Let's see what's on here." I say as I pick the USB up.

As I hold it in the air, we stare at it and then at each other. It was now or never as I plug the USB into the computer.

I slowly slide the mouse over to the USB icon and click. There was a folder that was named "DO NOT OPEN".

I looked over at Kenn who looked over at me. "We have to open it. That's like saying don't eat." He said as I stared back at the yellow folder. Part of me told me not to open it. But part of me wanted to know. I hover the mouse and as I was about to click, Kenn grabbed my hand. "Maybe we shouldn't. I mean it does have a warning. What if it's some twisted thing?"

I look at him having had the same thought. "Yea I don't want to see some crazy video." I tell him.

He then says "Oh who cares!" And clicks the folder. Within it was a video. He clicks on it before I can say or do anything and a bullseye appears circling around as if hypnotizing us. Then it quickly stops and it shows us looking at the computer.

"What the?" Kenn says as I turn around.

"How is that recording us?? There's no camera here." I tell him as Kenn looks back as well.

" I don't know how." We both stare at the screen again not stopping the video. It was as though we needed to keep watching. Just then a black figure starts gliding towards us in the video.

We immediately scream as we turn around. But nothing was there. "You look at the video and I'll look behind us." Kenn says as I continued to watch the video.

I don't know why I didn't stop playing it. I watched as the black figure sped up and grabbed Kenn.

I turned to help him but it was too late. Kenn was gone.

The black figure sped up and stared at me.

It breathed in my face as I stood motionless.

I couldn't do anything.

Not even scream.

With the blink of an eye, I was gone too.

Lauren was arranging the desk she found in the house they had bought. As she looked through the drawers, she finds a red USB.

"Hey Noah look. A red USB." Noah walked over and took it. He turned it over to see a skull etched on it. "This is a cool design. I wonder what's on this." He said as he went to grab his laptop.
