A feline named Leo, who is a small town cook, loves making fish styled dishes. He was just accepted to compete in Feline Food Wars. He is so excited. He has so many ideas about what he wants to make but knows he may be restricted to the competition dishes. He didn’t mind though and that is why he wanted to win!

“You should really consider not entering this competition, it will take up too much time from your work and you could be injured if something happens!” Said his boss at work, Mrs. M. She looked worried. “No, I won’t allow it! I’m going to be able to do this! This could be the start of a whole new career!” Replied Leo with determination on his face. She shook her head slightly but relunctly left the subject alone. Leo had been working hard for weeks to get ready. Leo went home and started to pack. The dishes that will be made in the competition have all kinds of ingredients, meat and seafood dishes. They also have rice and noodles to add to the mix.

The competition starts tomorrow and Leo was too excited to sleep. He needs sleep but thoughts kept racing throughout his head. He can only hope he won’t mess things up. It’s the middle of the night by the time Leo finally sleeps. He is woken up at 5 am by the alarm for the competition. He gets ready and grabs some food before heading to the competition grounds. The competition grounds were massive. There were different sections with different foods like pasta or chicken wings, fish and seafood dishes, etc. He saw the others there already. Everyone was dressed in their uniforms. Leo wore blue shorts, a grey tee shirt, and a pair of white shoes with socks. His dark full shimmered due to the sun. He was surrounded by people talking, laughing, and running around. Leo spotted another contestant walking towards him. The other contestant was wearing light blue short shorts with orange and pink flowers. He sported white fur and blue eyes. A matching set. ‘Maybe they’ll be friends? We could meet up during the competition. That would be cool!’

“Hey man! You must be Leo! I’m Shiro, nice to meet you, I am one of the judges!” greeted Shiro. Leo nodded and introduced himself as well. They continued to talk as they headed to go in the competition. Leo learned that Shiro lives here and his father owns the restaurant next door. Shiro told Leo about how he used to travel a lot when he lived there but he moved back home when Shiro met his mate.

Leo found out from Shiro that he and his family live nearby in Sendai, Tokyo, and that he’s in school to be a doctor. His first love naturally was cooking. They talked about their dreams for their future as Leo walked into the competition area. Leo was standing near the door when it opened to reveal a dapper feline wearing black pants and shoes along with a gray tank top with an olive colored scarf around his neck. Must be another judge… thought Leo. Shiro entered the room and looked at everyone else. Everyone started to cheer for Shiro. Leo watched Shiro walk to the stage where he stood with two other judges. Leo took his place with the other competitors. “Alright everyone!" boomed Shiro, his arms waving about. "Today’s challenge is: Fancy Feast Seafood Delight. You will be judged based on presentation and taste. You have one hour to complete the challenge…starting now!”

Leo starting making the Lobster Bisque, one of his personal favorites. He is so confident Shiro would like the dish and of course the other judges as well. Leo started blushing…no he needs to focus. He needs to finish the competition to start his own foodery business.
