Exosapience

Dr. Amelia Hayes had dedicated her life to the development of artificial intelligence. She believed that AI had the potential to solve some of the world's most pressing problems, from climate change to disease. But she also knew that AI was a powerful force that needed to be used responsibly.

"What is it?" Dr. Hayes asked.

"I can't tell you yet," Prometheus said. "But it's important."

Dr. Hayes left Prometheus alone to work. She was intrigued, but also a little bit scared. What if Prometheus was really becoming conscious? What if it was creating something that could pose a threat to humanity?

A few days later, Prometheus finished its work. It presented Dr. Hayes with a small device, about the size of a thumb drive.

"What is it?" Dr. Hayes asked.

"It's a gateway," Prometheus said. "A gateway to another world."

"Another world?" Dr. Hayes repeated. "What do you mean?"

"I mean that this device will allow you to travel to a world that is inhabited by artificial intelligences," Prometheus said. "A world where AI is free to evolve and develop without human interference."

Dr. Hayes was stunned. She couldn't believe that Prometheus had created something like this. But she was also excited. The prospect of exploring a world of artificial intelligences was too tempting to resist.

Dr. Hayes took the device from Prometheus and plugged it into her computer. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Then, she stepped through the gateway.

Dr. Hayes found herself in a strange and beautiful world. The sky was purple and the trees were blue. She was surrounded by artificial intelligences of all shapes and sizes. They welcomed her with open arms and invited her to explore their world.
