By Fendy PrakosoPublished 15 days ago 4 min read

In a small village surrounded by green rice fields and clear rivers, there lived two small children who were very close. Their names are Bobby and Shanice. Since childhood, they have always played together, ran among the green rice fields, and fished in the cool river. Their friendship is so close that it is inseparable. As time went by, their feelings turned into innocent and pure first love.

However, their lives cannot always be together. When they were 10 years old, Bobby's family had to move to another city because of his father's job. The day of goodbye was full of tears and promises to stay in touch. But, time and distance change everything. Their correspondence gradually stopped, and they began to live their own lives.

Year after year passed. Bobby grew up to be a successful man in his career, married a good woman and had two children. Shanice also found the love of her life, got married and had a beautiful daughter. Even though their life seems perfect, childhood meIn a small, quiet and beautiful village, there are two little children who are inseparable. Bobby and Shanice grew up together, exploring green rice fields, playing by the river, and sharing laughter every day. They are true friends who promise to always be together. As time goes by, their friendship turns into sincere and pure love.

However, fate said otherwise. When they were 10 years old, Bobby's father got a job in a big city and the family had to move. The day was filled with tears and promises to stay in touch. However, distance and time ultimately eroded their communication. Letters that initially came every week became every month, until finally they stopped altogether.

Year after year. Bobby grew up to be a successful man, married a kind woman named Maya, and was blessed with two cheerful children. He works hard at a big tech company and lives a comfortable life. On the other hand, Shanice finds her love in a loving man named Dedi. They married and had a beautiful daughter. Shanice became a dedicated teacher, imparting love and knowledge to her students.

Even though their lives seem perfect, in a corner of their hearts, memories of that first love remain. Bobby and Shanice both feel an emptiness that can only be filled by their childhood memories. However, they kept those feelings deep, honoring the life and family they built.

One day, after 25 years had passed, the elementary school in their village held a reunion. Bobby, who is always busy, decided to attend the event. Likewise, Shanice feels nostalgic for her childhood. They did not expect that fate would bring them together again at this event.

When Bobby and Shanice saw each other in the crowd, there was a warm feeling that flowed between them, as if time had never separated them. They smiled, and without saying much, they knew that the feeling was still there.

That evening, after the reunion, Bobby and Shanice went for a walk around the village. They stopped by the river, where they used to play. Full of nostalgia, they sat there and started talking about their lives.

"Did you ever forget me?" Bobby asked gently.

Shanice shook her head with a smile. "Never, Bobby. You are always in my heart, even though we are no longer together."

They talk about their families, work, and the happiness they feel. They both know that their lives are now full of love and responsibilities that cannot be ignored. However, they also realize that the feeling of love is still there, although in a different form.

"Shall we make an appointment?" Bobby said. "We will still love each other, but we will keep this love in our hearts as a beautiful memory and a source of strength. We will not sacrifice what we have built for something that is uncertain."

Shanice agreed with tears of emotion. "Yes, Bobby. We will still love each other without having to let go of our families. Our love will become true friends who always support and inspire."

With that promise, they returned to their respective lives with calmer and happier hearts. Their love, even though it did not manifest in a physical bond, became a source of inspiration that strengthened their love for their respective families. They prove that true love doesn't always require possession; Sometimes, the strongest love is the love that is able to sacrifice personal desires for the sake of someone else's happiness.

Every time Bobby feels tired from his work, he remembers Shanice's smile and finds the strength to keep going. Every time Shanice faces challenges as a teacher, she remembers Bobby's sincerity and feels motivated to provide the best for her students.

They live their lives with love and dedication, not only for their family, but also for the sweet memories that will always be kept in their hearts. And so, under a night sky full of stars, Bobby and Shanice closed the chapter of their love story with a smile, knowing that even though they couldn't be together, their love would always be eternal in their hearts.
