The Ascetic that once ruled these skies left his demands and deserves a place with the surprise and the panic of all of the people of the Stars. He thought for long about his resignation because his mind was not transparent as it was before.

He was old and he saw many things that made his thinking and his eyes dubious and blurry and he started considering that he might not be suitable anymore for the spot he occupied in society. He didn't want to become a peril for the people he loved.

He left with a heavy heart and went in a search of longing for solitude to clear his soul, even if everybody was angry with his seemingly sudden decision.

He could feel the discontent of those around him, that was why he decided to depart during the night saluting everybody with a heartfelt letter where he explained what reasons convinced him to go away.

His folk understood those motivations even if the scare for their future was tangible. There was an empty throne amongst the stars after all. They were witnessing something that never happened before in all of their History and they didn't know what to do.

They only knew that a special election was needed and they had to choose the best candidates as soon as possible before letting all of the empire collapses before their eyes.

Not that the Ascetic was the only good man among them, but they had still to choose wisely. Neither the universe did take well the shifting cosmic tides created by this unbelievable and immense event.

The air was gruesome, the light went dim and the breath of the planets and the galaxies froze leaving every person and creature with a sense of deep discomfort and hopelessness.

It felt like the wise man was the only one that could guide their future to be the best way possible, but it was not like that. The wise man knew that his abandonment was the better choice for granting them a glorious future.

The fog of their worries was so thick and dense that they couldn't even see the blink of the pulsing stars that travelled the nebulas, a sign of the passing of times that dictated the pace of their days since they could remember.

In a glimpse outside of time, there was an intense shaking of the Universe as it wanted to communicate to its inhabitants that they didn't have any time to waste whining, that they needed to think of a plan and execute it if they wanted to keep living in it. Did they want to maintain the state of peace and wellness that they always knew or fall into despair, rage and war? A march between Worlds that never was met before commenced.

The people were discontented with the old days of living without fights, with the boringness and monotony of peace. They were now at war in an ethereal drift that would bring unknown consequences, only because they procrastinated their responsibility to choose another elder to guide them.

They are still there in the maze of serpents, a new galaxy just conjured, they're still fighting for survival, regretting their inability to act swiftly when they had the chance.

The chance to avoid them precipitated in ages of famine, conflict, desperation and instability, missing all the good things they knew and had.

The battle is still raging with avoidable numbers of victims, with the distraction of what they fought so hard to conquer and guarantee to their own good in a disquieting rumble, but it's way too soon to see who'll be mourning, and who'll be dreaming of a lush new future.
