Superb words flew from the mouth of TSL. Sweat flicked from his forehead as he performed the last song.

“I just want everyone out there who ever lost someone to gun violence to put your phone lights in the air one time!”

The arena lit up with dots that looked like white, electronic lightning bugs.

“Respect and honor to all the families who lost someone. I dedicate this concert to you. Good night, Dover!”

He ran backstage. Julisia embraced him and kissed his neck.

“Great show, sir,” she declared. “We have a reprieve. We won’t have to take down anyone for a week. Your next show is in the city in a week. We’re going on a vacay!”

“Rehoboth all day!” TSL pecked at her face.

They found themselves getting ready for the vacation. In all of their preparations, they still packed enough firearms to keep going for the whole week just in case somebody wanted to get cute.

Julisia packed the rounds and the weapons in separate cases.

“I have a feeling we’re not going to need these, but we should be armed nonetheless,” she asserted.

“Absolutely,” TSL replied.

Once they had been packed and were packing, they continued on with their travels. In the Lightray, they felt the trappings of Lower Slower Delaware (LSD) creep into their souls.

It was off season so very few people resided at the beach. The vehicle drew a few stares and when they piled outside of the Lightray, some kids waved and even ran up to TSL for an autograph.

In the time that they unpacked the vehicle, they could feel the coolness of the air. The water would be frigid. They weren’t considering going into the waves. The resort provided a simulated ocean that was heated.

“It feels like all of the problems of the north are melting away,” Julisia said.

Then, a shot rang out. The guns were in the room. They got down on the floor. TSL remembered his snub nose under his towel. A figure moved up and down. The next time the figure popped up, TSL aimed and shot whoever it was.

“We can’t go anywhere,” TSL pointed out.

Julisia had not packed her rifle but took the snubnose and looked at her man.

“It’s still hot.”

“It just ought to be.” They toweled off and continued towards the slain assailant.

TSL unmasked the person. He was red in skin color and had wavy hair. He died from a single round to the chest.

When the authorities got there they knew TSL from rapping and his work with the Delaware State Police. Officer Marty Barbady acknowledged the rapper’s affinity for supporting gun rights and safety.

“This person fits the profile of who we were going to be tracking up north. I can say that he was planning to defraud a couple out of their millions down here.”

“We can’t go anywhere,” Julisia repeated.

“Thank you for your work on this case. You made our jobs just a bit easier.”

“Absolutely.”

The couple felt the vacation wasn’t totally lost. It came to them the reason for their being down there. They had wanted that respite, that little slice of being free and away from the trevails of life in New Castle County. Somehow, they just couldn’t get away from trouble. It followed them like the dead fly in the perfume. Except the fly kept coming back to life and dying again over and over.

“We’re going to be extra careful when it comes to these suspicious characters,” Julisia announced.

“What we can do is just be ourselves and make sure we pack at least one gun,” TSL replied.
