Layla laid down in her bed, not knowing what would happen next, but excited by the possibilities. Thirty minutes later, as she lost consciousness, she woke up in the middle of a field. She was wearing a red dress and flats, a leap from her conservative cotton pajamas.
It was daylight, and she could smell the sea. She knew the peculiar, saltiness of the odor. Layla was in the northeast, but where?
As she walked softly through the field, not knowing what she'd find, she heard the screams coming her way.
"Witch! Witch! Witch!"
"Not Salem," uttered the powerful Wiccan.
