Rushing, the girl set the table up. Crockery, wine glasses, artistically folded napkins, food platters. Yes, this was to be a good meal indeed.

She inhaled the blissful scent of the numerous dishes, all crafted with great care and technique. It was a large amount of food, for sure. She couldn't wait to get a taste.

Though the food was prepared for seven, one of the guests cancelled unexpectedly. There was sure to be food left, but that seemed almost impossible. After all, who in the right mind would want to waste a single drop of such delicacies?

The table, now completely set up, looked like the most romantic dining area to ever exist. Yes, there were surely more beautiful and royal and large dining rooms, but tonight, this was the greatest masterpiece to the girl's eyes.

She couldn't help but imagine herself sitting on the table and biting into the fresh, hot food. But no, she would have to wait for the guests.

Finally, the guests arrived, the food was served, the diners dug in, complimenting each dish. Yes, why wouldn't they? Just from a glance at the food the girl could tell what a wonderful experience the taste buds would be getting.

Dinner ended. The guests went home, tipsy from the overpriced wine. The table was cleaned. There was still leftover food, food worth the meal of a whole person.

The food was now cold, stored away in containers for the help to eat.

And so, the little girl sat, and ate up the delicacies, now cold, but still owning up to her daydreams, as she imagined herself dining at the grand table.
