Benny the bat was flying over the forest one night when he saw something strange. A long, slithery creature was moving through the underbrush below. Benny had never seen anything like it before, and he decided to get a closer look.

As he flew closer, he realized that it was a snake. Benny had heard stories about snakes before, but he had never seen one in person. The snake was beautiful and fascinating, with its smooth skin and graceful movements.

Benny wanted to say hello, but he didn’t know if snakes could talk. He decided to give it a try anyway.

“Hello there,” he said, hovering in the air above the snake. “My name is Benny. What’s yours?”

The snake stopped moving and looked up at Benny. “Hello, Benny,” it hissed. “My name is Sly. What brings you to this part of the forest?”

Benny was surprised that the snake could talk, but he was happy to make a new friend. He explained that he was just flying around, exploring the forest.

Sly seemed interested in Benny’s stories and asked him lots of questions about his life as a bat. Benny, in turn, was fascinated by the snake’s stories about slithering through the forest and catching prey.

As they talked, Benny noticed that Sly moved unnaturally, and saw a wound on his side. It looked like he had been bitten by something. Benny asked him about it, and Sly told him that he had been attacked by a bird earlier that day.

Benny knew that he had to help. He suggested that they find some herbs to treat the wound. Sly was hesitant at first, but he eventually agreed.

Benny flew off in search of the herbs: an echinacea, with beautiful pink flowers, lavender, with purple ones, and mallows with pink and white petals. He knew these could help the wound heal faster. Meanwhile Sly stayed behind to rest. It took a while, but Benny finally found the plants he was looking for. He brought them back to Sly, and they worked together to make a poultice.

As they worked, they talked more about their lives and their hopes for the future. Benny told Sly about his dreams of exploring new parts of the forest and meeting other creatures like himself.

Sly listened intently and then told Benny about his own hopes. He wanted to find a mate and start a family, but he was afraid that his wound would prevent him from doing so.

Benny was sympathetic and told Sly that he would help him find a mate. He suggested that they search for one together, using his keen sense of hearing to locate other snakes in the forest.

Sly was grateful for Benny’s offer and agreed to go with him. They spent the rest of the night searching for other snakes, but they didn’t have any luck.

As the sun started to rise, they decided to call it a night. Benny told Sly that they would keep looking for a mate, and he promised to help him heal his wound.

Sly thanked Benny for his kindness and told him that he had never met a bat like him before. Benny smiled and said that he had never met a snake like Sly before either.

As Benny flew back to his tree to rest, he realized that he had made a new friend and helped someone in need. He felt proud of himself and happy to have met Sly. He knew that they would have many more adventures together in the future.
