The Undead King, with his army.

Pain.

Sudden pain flares up in your head. Like fire it’s the worst pain you’ve ever felt. Then it creeps lower.

Your neck.

Your shoulders. Rapidly like fire it spreads down your arms causing your fingers to curl up like claws as the muscles tense in agony.

Pain.

It spreads lower down your chest.

Thud.

A thunderclap loud sound rings through your mind and body. A single heartbeat.

The fire continues on, bringing pain lower. Your abs clench like a dry heave, your back arches.

Pain.

Never ceasing, ever expanding pain reaches your hips. Every nerve is on fire but it doesn’t stop.

Like lightning the pain shoots down your legs, you pull them up to your chest but it doesn’t stop. Even your toes scrunch up in pain.

Curled in the fetal position it doesn’t stop. The pain consumes your mind, it’s all you can think of it’s unending and unbearable you can’t...you can’t go on like this

Then nothing.

As quickly as it came the pain is gone.

Slowly you come to notice the cold touch of stone on your cheek. The solid ground you lay upon is as cold as the air hitting your back.

Slowly and with some discomfort you uncurl from your ball and try to open your eyes.

Darkness.

No wait. You blink, a little light appears. Blink again and again slowly the haze of dark gives way to torch light. Bright compared to before you sit up slowly looking around.

Your mouth is dry like sandpaper, as though you had not had a drink in days.

Though sore your muscles respond easily and with strength allowing you to look around at the room you now find yourself in. Deep blue stone sits under you, torches line the walls and you are not alone.

On the ground around you sit bodies, slowly rising and peering curiously as you are. 4..no 5 others. Their bodies are naked, and the flesh decayed. You look down and see with horror that you are the same.

Almost simultaneously you all come to the same realization: You are Dead.

Or more accurately, Undead. Looking around you see other creatures in armor and bearing weapons. Collectively behind you is a large door and before you sits a throne. Beside it stands a Black clad knight with burning red eyes and upon sits a skeletal man in purple robes, his fingers adorned with rings and a staff in one hand. “Good.” He spoke, his voice strong but drawn out, as though he was very old “It has worked. Now for the next step.”

The man’s second spell seems to come to a climax and he extends a hand, a bolt of orange light slams into each of you and lifts you from the ground into the air. Pain once again floods through every fiber of your being and it seems to last forever before you fall to the ground with a loud thud.

You groan and reach up to your head. And you see your hand it’s not decayed! Quickly you look over your nude form and sure enough you are whole once more; but oddly your skin is now white, the color of a morning frost. And your hair is jet black.

Then the man speaks again, several words but you hear only one "Kyvius" As he says your name you fall to your knees as memories pour into your mind. Who you were, your life, your skills, and your...death.

He continues to speak “Each of you were skilled heroes and now you will do my bidding. Succeed and you will be free to return to death or live life once more.” He extends his hand and you feel a pressure in your mind, the urge to move. To hunt. North, you must go north. “Arm yourselves and seek your target. Once my revenge is sated you will be free.”

The large knight clad in black armor speaks, his voice is deep and resonates power “Come. I will show you to the armory.” and he departs. You follow him, willingly or not as a power compels your body to move.
