7 ways to grow yourself

Grow indoors:

Growing a cannabis plant indoors has many advantages over cultivating outside. Indoor growers have control over their environment, temperature, and lighting, while outdoor growers must contend with extreme weather conditions and natural disasters. Additionally, indoor environments provide the benefit of being able to isolate your cannabis crop from any unwanted insects that may attack outdoor crops. If you live in a place where the climate is harsh and/or prone to certain types of bugs then grow indoors.

Grow using organic methods:

A lot of people think that if they use organic fertilizer they won’t get good results. While the opposite can be said about some chemical fertilizers, there are still risks involved in using them. There is no guarantee that organic fertilizers won’t harm your plants, especially if you are not familiar with how to properly apply them. Using organic fertilizer also requires extra work for you, since you have to make sure that you know what type of fertilizer you need to buy and then mix it correctly.

Create a rich compost:

Although composting can take a long time to create, it is well worth the wait. Compost is a mixture of different types of materials that decompose and release nutrients back into the earth. Creating your own compost takes a great amount of effort, but it helps the environment tremendously. When making your compost, keep in mind that you want to add mainly green material (grass clippings, grass trimmings, etc), as opposed to brown or dry items. Also, try adding things like flowers, seeds, leaves, or even manure before you start mixing everything together.

Use organic pesticides:

Pesticides are chemicals used to kill certain insects and to help prevent harmful bacteria. However, these chemicals can be toxic to humans and animals, as well as having negative effects on plants. Try to opt for non-chemical alternatives whenever possible. You can use natural remedies like soap water or vinegar to clean your plants. A few drops of dish washing liquid mixed with warm water works wonderfully as a pesticide.

Don't overfeed:

While an excess of food can be helpful for some plants, it can actually hurt cannabis plants. Most marijuana strains thrive on limiting its access to nutrients, so don’t overfeed your plants, or else you could wind up harming them instead of helping them. Avoid fertilizing your plants every day, and only give them enough water so that they aren’t soggy. Give your plants adequate sunlight and space, so that they can thrive without burning out.

Grow in multiple rooms:

If you want to maximize your harvest, you should use multiple locations and rooms throughout your house. Plants in the same room tend to compete with each other; however, if they are across the hall, they do not have the opportunity to share nutrients and light. This means that you can increase your yield exponentially! And if you ever run out of lights, you just move the plants somewhere else.

Start early:

For best results, you should start your plants at least three weeks prior to harvesting. Your earliest harvestable buds will be small and immature, so you shouldn’t expect much volume until six-to-eight weeks later. Starting your plants too late could result in slower growth rates and lower yields. Keep in mind that younger plants require less light than older ones, so if you start them at the end of September, you will likely have to maintain your lights longer than those who started theirs earlier.

Grow your own nutrients:

Cannabis has been known to require large amounts of specific nutrients at certain times in its life cycle. Growing your own nutrient mix allows you to control the amount of each nutrient and create a balanced mixture that suits your particular strain's requirements. While nutrients are often sold individually, they may not have enough potency to allow for proper growth. By mixing them together, you can make a much higher-potency cocktail that contains all of the necessary vitamins and minerals.

Go to a local dispensary:

While buying directly from dispensaries might seem convenient, purchasing your nutrients from a reputable shop ensures that you're getting quality products, tested for contaminants and harmful substances. You'll find that some dispensaries sell their own mixes while others use third-party companies to produce these mixtures. Because of this, you should look into what options are available before deciding to purchase them in bulk.

Make your own compost:

Composting is the best way to recycle food scraps left over after cooking and cleaning. Simply add any leftover food items to a compost bin. Compost bins can be purchased online or at home improvement stores. As long as the material doesn't smell bad, the end product is good for the garden. Using a compost bin will help reduce the need for commercial fertilizer, which could potentially cause harm to the environment.

Grow without pesticides:

If you live where it gets really hot during summer months, then it might be wise to keep your plants indoors rather than out in the sun. When growing indoors, you won't have to worry about using chemicals to control insects, disease, and weeds. But you do still have to be mindful of things like temperature fluctuations. If you don't have a reliable air conditioner or heater, try to monitor the room temperature closely throughout the day. If you notice that the room is becoming too warm, place additional fans and open windows to cool down the space.

Get rid of the garbage:

One thing that many people overlook is that cannabis also produces odors. Most strains emit a strong scent or aroma that isn't pleasant for those around them. If you're having trouble keeping your plants clean, consider investing in a humidifier. They work by circulating water vapor through the air and making it easier to maintain humidity levels. A humidifier also helps eliminate mold and mildew, plus reduces condensation buildups on the inside of your grow tent.

Use mulch:

Mulch comes in handy for several reasons. First, it keeps weeds under control and prevents moisture loss. In addition, it adds extra nutrients to the ground and creates a nice surface for roots to attach to. Mulch should be kept 2 inches away from the stems of the plant.

Keep an eye on bugs:

The easiest way to avoid problems with pest infestations is simply to keep an eye on the plants you've grown. Insects love to hide in dark corners, so if you spot something moving around, take note and remove it immediately. Also, make sure that you're properly trimming your cannabis plants and removing dead foliage regularly.
