During my time growing up it was hard to have an agreeable life due to the excessive poverty that my family was in. I recollect quite recently my family was among the most affluent of families in the locale. My dad inherited a few lands that were dedicated in the creation of opium, a family business company that had been in presence for two generation. My dad had consistently guided my younger brother and I to take responsibility for the business when it was the right time. Be that as it may, this opportunity arrived sooner than we had all guessed when he met an early death on the hand of his own sibling, my uncle.

Mom had made an excellent job in raising both of us brothers whose part was currently to take care of our mom in the absence of our dead father. The trial started when one chilling morning when we were eating breakfast at home in the western uplands. My uncle was a general in the public authority which, had gotten a lot of censure and aggression from the opposition. My uncle was an immense man, bold and furious with his words. This was the second time I had seen him in my life since he was never at home. Early that day, a trop of soldiers constrained their direction to our house upon the order made by my uncle.

My mom lead us out of a secret entryway of the chateau we had that we never knew existed. She needed to escape with us to save our lives, which would later turn to be a favor to her and the memory of her late spouse. Years later after the demise of our father, we needed to device routes in which we could uphold ourselves. Andrew my younger brother was consistently enthusiastic about craftsmanship and music just like our mother. Anyway I was profoundly determined to be a business man and continue in the steps of my father.

Throughout the long years I had consistently considered how dissimilarly life might have unfurled for us in the situation if we remained back that day. Additionally, I was in constant thoughts over why my uncle had been so cruel on that day, his motive for brutality against his family and what was occurring at our home at the moment. Our mom had prohibited us from at any point return to our lost home, she was persuaded that the place was cursed and that our return will be the reason for our death.

Life had changed for us, from the solace of a manor and servants to a life of hardship and begging. There was so little we could call our own plotting the time we needed to escape with our lives. Notwithstanding our situation, our mom continually reassured us the most effective way only a mother could. From time to time we would be moving looking for a place we could settle in and begin a new life. At some point, as it had been our habit, we approached a trusted magnate who could employ us to do some ranch work and other casual works that could end up being useful to us live by. The man had a huge chateau and a big coffee plantation which we later learned was handed-down from his granddad. I envied the harmony that the man had in contrast with our situation. Being a merciful man, we explained of our past experiences and he proposed to help us, not only the fact that he took us in yet he also paid for our schooling. My mom was currently aging and she often became sick lately.

On one day after school my mom called me to her room where she had been on bed for a few days at this point. She had a profound smile right in her face that genuinely showed satisfaction and love, yet I could likewise see that she is in pain and her smile was not so bright as it used to be. These were the most intense 5 minutes of my life, I was befuddled on what I should do or say, she squeezed my hand and murmured to me then with one final heavy breath she passed away. Around then I could feel the heaviness of the weight on my shoulder, I could scarcely inhale and my mind was blank. I need to remain strong for my younger brother as I was the only guardian to him and need to take care of him. During that time I blew up at everybody. First I was angry at my parents for leaving us early on yet after all these I put all the blame on my uncle. Weeks after the fact I was moved to have vengeance on my uncle yet I couldn't since I had made a promise to my mom before she passed away.

Years later after our schooling, our host Mr. Moore who resembled a father to us, called my younger brother and me for a conversation. He had a big smile of a pleased dad. Despite the fact that he had no children of his own, he had always clarified that he was so glad to be our dad. During this conversation, he made it clear that we were to take over his homestead upon his death. I had so many questions in my head that I was considered to turn down his proposition. In any case, I couldn't turn my back to a man who had really taken care of us when situations were extreme in our lives. That was the point at which I realized that family is portrayed by resilience, love, responsibility or more all faithfulness. The gift of family is more wealthy than whatever other material possession, that is the endowment of family.
