A Man's Ungrateful Love
Girija and Rajan were childhood neighbors, and they knew each other since they were little. They used to play together and go to school together. However, Girija's family moved to another city, and they lost touch. Years later, Girija and Rajan met again at a wedding. They were both adults now, and they couldn't believe how much they had changed. Girija was amazed by how handsome Rajan had become, and Rajan couldn't take his eyes off her. They spent the whole evening talking, and by the end of the night, they exchanged phone numbers. They started talking every day, and Rajan would often visit Girija in her city. They fell in love, and it wasn't long before they decided to get married. Girija's family was delighted to see their daughter happy, and they welcomed Rajan into their family with open arms. Rajan was grateful to have Girija in his life, and he promised to love her forever. They built a beautiful life together, and Girija was always there for Rajan, no matter what. She worked hard to provide for the both of them, and she made sure that Rajan always had everything he needed. She loved Rajan with all her heart and treated him like a child. Despite not having any children of their own, she was happy to take care of Rajan as if he was her own. But Rajan was not grateful man anymore. He didn't appreciate Girija's love and hard work. He would often yell at her and treat her like a servant. He spent his days idling around the house, smoking and drinking, while his wife worked tirelessly to put food on the table. Girija would always prepare special meals for Rajan, but he would never show any appreciation for her cooking. Things only got worse when the pandemic hit. Girija was still going to work every day, despite the risks involved. She was determined to keep her job and provide for her husband. But Rajan didn't care about her health. He continued to smoke and drink, not realizing the toll it was taking on his wife. One day, Girija fell ill. She had a high fever and was unable to cook for Rajan. He didn't care about her condition and demanded that she make him food. When Girija refused, Rajan got angry and snatched some money from her before storming out of the house. He didn't come back for two days. When Rajan finally returned, he found his wife lying still in bed. He called out to her, but she didn't respond. Her eyes were closed, and she wasn't breathing. Girija had passed away, and Rajan didn't even shed a tear. He was numb to the loss. After a few weeks, Rajan sold Girija's flat and used the money to visit brothels and drink himself into oblivion. He spent all the money he had, and the women he had been with took advantage of him and threw him out onto the streets. Rajan was left with nothing, nowhere to go, and nothing to eat. He had hit rock bottom. It was at this point that Rajan started to think about Girija and the love she had shown him. He realized that he had taken her for granted and treated her poorly. He had never shown her the love and appreciation she deserved. He started to cry, realizing that he had lost the one person who had loved him unconditionally. As he lay on the streets, Rajan's health began to deteriorate. He contracted leprosy and was shunned by everyone he met. People treated him like a disease, and no one wanted to come near him. Rajan was alone and had nothing to live for. In his final moments, Rajan whispered to himself, "Love is ultimate." He realized that if he had loved Girija the way she deserved to be loved, his life would have been very different. He would have been happy, content, and loved. But because he didn't value her love, he had lost everything. He died a lonely man, with no one to mourn his passing.

The Language of Love: A Villanelle's Refrain
The language of love can be hard to express at times. In poetry, there is one form of verse in particular that embodies the deepest and most romantic sentiments of devotion and passion - the villanelle. The villanelle is a traditional 19-line poem comprised of two repeating refrains that always end the poem. This makes it an ideal poem for expressing those loving feelings in a special and powerful way. The structure of the villanelle also helps add an emotional element. With each refrain, the poem moves back to the start of the verse. This evokes feelings of nostalgia, of reflecting back on the journey that has brought us to the same place once again. This same repeating motion can help a person realize the beauty of the enduring relationship. A villanelle is unique because of its refrains, but what is more special is the way those refrains are crafted. They must be full of the love we seek to express. In order to do that, they need to have the perfect mixture of emotions – both content and lyrical. They should also make a vivid picture, not only through the words they choose but also the music they convey. It is possible to include both gentle and strong elements, as love is often a mix of these different tones. In a villanelle, the language of love takes on its full shape. With its message, repetition and its creative spirit, it offers us an escape from reality, where the object of our affections will be at the center of our romantic declaration. We can express love through a villanelle with a voice of deep understanding, whether it be a desire to commit to the beloved, an admiration of beauty, or a heartache at the absence of their presence. These verses tell the story of our longing in a very real, honest, and raw way, making them a unique and captivating form of poetry. In short, a villanelle can be used to communicate love in its many forms. The repetitions, creative word choices and tones create an enduring poem of devotion and romance, sure to bring tears of joy to the listener’s eyes.
