Ro and the Spider
Ro was only three but already she had fallen in love with spiders and their magical silky webs. She could spot a spider web from a distance and would insist that everyone pause and look at web she had spotted. Being only three there were many things about the world she had yet to figure out and despite her precocity and large vocabularly she was like all small children living in a dream like state where reality and imagination were often entertwined.

He would be eighteen years old this year. In 2003, Robert and Dennis were riding their bicycles all over Henrietta. They were part of a group of boys, all thirteen, born barely a month apart, that liked to explore the area. They never told us where they were going, because we as Robert's parents, had a restricted area where they could ride their bikes. As long as they came home safe, that was basically all that mattered, unless the police brought them home.

It began in the summer. We set ourselves the task of exploring the places we lived as we travelled on our narrowboat. We decided that after eighteen months of the same four walls in a 65ft boat we would show our son the world we lived in. And so we set off through the Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire and Denbighshire countryside, stopping wherever we pleased and making the most of family time; me, my partner and our son.

My Son Became a Dad
When kids are babies, we dream of the day that they will walk and talk. We look forward to all the milestones that they will reach as they travel through to their adult years. When they are in elementary school we look forward to high school; when they are in high school, we look forward to them going to college or starting a job. We beam with pride with each accomplishment and our hearts are a little bit saddened when they encounter bumps along their path. For me, perhaps the greatest wish I had for my son was that someday he would find a nice girl with whom he could make a life and have a family.

Why you should let Both Boys and Girls play with Dolls.
I still remember the dolls I had as a child. I had several baby dolls and an older child doll. My older child doll was called Emma, and she represented a child of around 5 to 6 years old. I used to dress them, wash them, have pretend tea parties with them, and boys would also engage in parenting role play with me and my dolls. I remember lining them all up on my bed in my room one by one and pretending that I was the teacher in a school classroom teaching them. I also used to love bathing them and washing their hair.

Parenting My Way
My daughter's father comes from a family of teachers and I was always an active member at my local library. That being said we were heavily in agreement that we wanted our daughter to have books around from day one. I'm lucky enough to be part of a community that has access to 'Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.' Its a free service that provides a monthly book for kids zero to five years of age. I enrolled my daughter when she was less than 24 hours old. Recently it has become one of her favorite things to get a book in the mail at which point she sits and 'reads' it to anybody who will sit still long enough.
