My Grandson Logan
New to being a cowboy in his 20th year
We are going to my grandson's bull riding today about three hours from home. I never expected Logan to be a bull rider, and he has been riding bulls since probably the middle of summer. I am not sure which ride this will be today. I am nervous to go and watch him, but I told him I would go before the season is over.
Wouldn't you know, I thought he was done with the season, but not yet! This may be the last of the season, so I agreed to go today. He doesn't have a vehicle right now, only a work truck, so we are his ride. No backing out now.
I have tried to copy a video of his mom at her first ride and I'm hopeful my first time won't be as scary. I'm a bit older than her and I can only imagine a heart attack at my age as stressed as she looked.

He started riding motorcycle at 18, and now it's bulls at 20. Logan, the kid that screamed one time as his mom forgot to put his seatbelt on. And the child who would tell on others for not wearing their seatbelt, now a bull rider. A guy who only rode a small pony a couple times as a child.
Since starting to ride he has put up a barrel to get some practice in-between rides. His goal is to stay on for 8 seconds as that is what counts. He claims to have been on for 5 seconds now. Much better than the one second ride that he started with.
Well, she looks okay at the beginning and at the end of his ride. But she didn't look so good during the ride! The photos above are what was posted after his ride. I'm not sure how to share the actual video as it was posted on Facebook. Suffice it to say, it wasn't pretty! She was stressed to the max in the video.
Bull riding is for the young at heart
I couldn't talk him out of it from the start
Now, he says something like how he lives
to ride another day. That really gives
me concerns when he says that.
I think he maybe messing with me, the brat!
~
He said, "Grandma, you have 30 grandchildren
It won't hurt to lose just one of them children"
I want you all to outlive me. I've already lost one.
Her name is inked on many. She is not forgotten, Hon.
I think of her all the time and wish she were here.
I want all of my grandchildren to stay near
through my life especially in the upcoming year.
~
Grieving is no fun, hon, and I have plenty of experience
with that. It is very inconvenient, and out of sequence
I get to go first, as I'm the oldest. Remember older
than dirt! You used to think that way. I'm bolder
now and will give you a frown. I'm not as easy going
about how you operate. So, tone down on your showing
off, and stick around for years to come. Remember I say
the best thing ever is your grandchildren. Now have a good day!
~~~~~~~~~~
I'm sure it will be fine. I just need to be supportive and hope everything goes well. I know it is not my will. I will pray today, for a good ride. Part of me
doesn't want it to be 8 seconds as then this will continue. Maybe it won't be back next year if he can't make his goal of 8 seconds.
Very wishful thinking on my part, I know.
