Hope
It had been 50 years since Hope had been home. Her hair was grayer now, and she had a few lines around her eyes, mouth and on her forehead. What had drawn her back home, she was a mystery. All she knew was she needed to come home and to see the old homestead. It wasn't much a homestead really, more like an old broken down shack.

Marla isn’t really a fortune teller, but if you didn’t know, you would think she was. Another Full Circle
There she stood, off in the distance though I was closing it fast, my adopted momster. Don't get me wrong, she's good to everyone else but me, so goes the story of my life. It was probably four or so years ago that she found me again after disowning me when I was fifteen and I'm now 52, you do the math. Anyway, now she is like one of my bestfriends. We text everyday and we visit in person every chance we get. She has asked me to forgive her for getting rid of me and I think I have but not having ever been forgiven myself I'm not sure I know how. She still won't tell me why, even though I already know.

X Marks the Spot
I want to tell you the story of Robert and Angelica Westberg. Brother and sister, Robert was the oldest with 11 years under his belt, so naturally, he was his sister’s keeper as she was only a mere seven years old. They lived, well, really, they didn’t live anywhere. They were homeless. They stayed mostly on the west side of 46th Ave but moved around when possible to avoid being caught and taken to an orphanage. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, they’re also orphans. Their parents, Micheal and Willow Westberg, died about six months ago. They went out for coffee and pastries one morning, and around 5 pm the same day, the police chief arrived at their home to tell the children the unfortunate news.

Holy Grail Parenting
It's irrational in my opinion, that many people think because they were parented a certain way, that they should just repeat the same methods for their own children. Here's why you need to have critical thinking skills and know how to gather information on parenting from different sources. In the end, you have the freedom to raise your children as you see fit. Just make sure that you have the patience, empathy, responsibility and knowledge necessary to do it. This way you can raise a happy, healthy child without damaging another person for life.

Golden Wedding Anniversary
Golden Wedding Anniversary My parents had been married for nearly fifty years. I had done nothing for their 25th wedding anniversary, nor their 30th, or their 40th. It was insensitive of me. I am a very bad daughter. And my mother was not going to let me get away with it again. She called me a few weeks before her Golden Wedding Anniversary and told me that needed to talk. I went to see her and took her to lunch at Luby’s to see what was up.
