«I am sorry», I say, «I haven’t come to see you in such a long time» She looks up at me, same as I remember, exactly the same despite the simple fact that at least six years have passed since we last met. Yes, I think to myself, exactly six years, we met last at mom’s funeral, argued the way we always do about some shit that wasn’t important I am sure. It’s never important in retrospect but seems crucial, essential in the moment.

Tinashe looked at the invoice from the solicitors for the umpteenth time. The final figure showed £999.00. Why do they always do that? That’s a grand he thought. The last time he coughed out nearly a grand as well, still, no results. He had just finished meeting with the solicitor guy, Gary was his name. “The court says that she can’t be removed until the council provides a place for her. She can’t be homeless according to the law.”

Our red table
That was our table. All shiny and red and exciting but if you looked closely, you would see the cheap plastic falling apart in the corners, one of the legs was wobbly and it was placed close to the door. I remember feeling annoyed at the blast of cold air that would hit our face when someone walked into the café. Come to think of it, the table was much like you and me. But, it was our table and that was all that mattered to me in those days. I can’t really remember why we picked that particular table on our first date. We just did and after that, that drafty old corner became ours. Do you remember that you touched me first sitting at that very table? You sort of sneaked your hand to pick up the plate and when your fingers grazed mine, you let them remain there for a moment before drawing them away. I remember the silent blush that rose up your cheeks when that happened. But, we were just sixteen then. What did we know of love really?...

Lucille looked down at the cast iron skillet on top of her range. “Sunnyside up,” she whispered. That is what her grandmother used to call fried eggs. She held the brown shelled egg in the palm of her right hand and thought, I’ve never tasted a fried egg as good as my grandmother made. A franchisee must keep their franchise up to code and follow all guidelines given by the franchisor, as well as obtain and remain compliant with state licensing requirements. The property will need to meet all standards before it passes an inspection. Allowing new daycare facilities to open indicates that appropriate authorities have inspected the property as well as all equipment intended for child use. All fixtures, equipment, and installations should not present any risk to children who are attending the childcare facility. All parties must be sure that all standards are met before the door opens. The franchisors give guidance to help ensure that the franchisee continues to follow all regulations and health and safety standards while operating the child care facility.

Movie Review: 'Minari'
The American dream is for everyone. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, the American dream, prosperity, independence, freedom, are available to everyone. Some people place hurdles in front of the dream based on their prejudice, petty hatreds, and ignorance. But those hurdles can take nothing away from the true American dream and those who fight to achieve it. A good example of that is the new movie Minari.

Her World
A lifetime of love and care to the man she met as a boy. He was world for so long that she could not remember a time when he was not in the center of it. They met in high school. Those were the times when women did not have the choices they did today. It was pre-written that she was to find a husband, have babies, and take care of her family. The fight for women’s equality had made big strides, but there was still a long way to go. It would not have made a difference to her anyway. She would have chosen him. She would have chosen the same life because of her love for him.
