The city of vibrant colours, strong smells, and loud noises, Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is a dream come true for anyone wanting to experience novelty. Dotted with street markets and shopping malls that sell a diverse variety of things, Bangkok offers you an experience that’s going to stick with you forever. But shopping isn’t the only thing you can do here; the city also offers a range of hiking trails that will take you through secret pathways filled with flora and fauna.

Khao Yai National Park

Whether you are an experienced hiker who wants a challenge or a beginner who wants an introduction to hiking, Khao Yai National Park will offer exactly what you are looking for.

The first-ever national park in Bangkok, Khao Yai National Park, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a thick forest that’s home to a range of wildlife, including deer, elephants, and porcupines; you might also come across some tigers. The forest is also a nurturing ground for a number of waterfalls, and there are several hiking trails as well.

The park is 77 miles away from Bangkok, and there are camping and lodging facilities available.

Lumpini Park

Just 10 minutes from Ascott Sathorn Bangkok is Lumpini Park. This is a vast open space located close to many serviced apartments in Bangkok Sathorn. Whenever you feel like taking a stroll, put on your running shoes and head down here. The park is home to a number of walking trails and playgrounds, and you’ll also see some birdlife here. Lumpini Park is an excellent place if you want to get away from all that bustle.

The best time to visit is in the morning and evening; the mid-day sun can be quite unbearable.

Khao Sam Lan National Park

Located in Saraburi, Khao Sam Lan National Park is home to lush hiking trails, waterfalls, and mountains. The tallest mountain in the park reaches an elevation of 1082 feet, an excellent opportunity for those who want a challenging hike coupled with dreamy views.

Park is inhabited by a monkey population, so keep a tight grip on your belongings. There are also several waterfalls, and some of them are perfect for a refreshing swim. To get here, you have to drive for one and a half hours.

The park also features numerous camping and lodging facilities, and there are several trip options, including one-day and multi-day tours.

Wat Ratchanatdaram

With a history going back to 1846, Wat Ratchanatdaram is a Buddhist temple located in Phra Nakhon. This is off the beaten path, which means that you can have plenty of quiet time here. The design of the temple is intricately detailed, making it a mesmerising sight to behold.

Locals and tourists get here to spend an afternoon in perfect peace. There are walkways used by locals to meditate; you can also sit quietly in one of the hallways, which are well-maintained and clean. You need at least two hours to explore the temple grounds.

Kaeng Krachan National Park

This is the biggest park in Thailand, and there’s an abundance of wildlife and plant life to be seen here. The lush forest brings you an oasis that’s both beautiful and tranquil; you won’t find the likes of this anywhere else in the country.

As you hike along the pathways that cut through the thickness of the forest, you will come across the inhabitants of the park. Elephants, leopards, reptiles, and gibbons are a few species that take shelter in the park. You will also see various bird species that flit across the trees.

The range of tours available includes single-day tours and multi-day tours. You can also adjust these tours according to your time restraints and skill level. You can either hike solo or join a group tour guided by an experienced local.
