Sometimes the tortoise way is right

“There is no time to take a look at those cherry blossoms.” Katrina yelled as she walked from the lunch truck back to her office building.

Ever since she took her first steps, she never stopped running. It felt like is she took a second to sit there would be something going undone. How could she look at trees that were unmoving when she had meeting all day. Those trees lived for decades. Who knew how long Katrina had.

Katrina was always in a hurry. She rushed through everything in life - work, friendships, relationships - always in search of the next big thing. She was ambitious, driven, and determined to make something of herself. Katrina's days were filled with meetings, emails, and deadlines. She barely had time to breathe, let alone stop and smell the roses. She had a successful career as a marketing executive, but her personal life was nonexistent. She had no time for friends, let alone a romantic relationship.

But all that changed when she met John. John was different from anyone Katrina had ever met before. He was kind, patient, and had a great sense of humor. He was a breath of fresh air in Katrina's hectic life. John and Katrina met at a mutual friend's party. They hit it off immediately and quickly became friends. They would meet up for lunch or coffee during Katrina's hectic workdays, and John would always make her laugh and help her forget about the stress of her job.

As their friendship grew, Katrina began to see John in a different light. She started to develop feelings for him that went beyond friendship. But she was hesitant to pursue anything romantic. She didn't want to risk ruining their friendship if things didn't work out.

One day, John surprised Katrina with tickets to a comedy show. They had a great time laughing and enjoying each other's company. After the show, John took Katrina out for dinner at a cozy Italian restaurant. They talked for hours about everything under the sun, and Katrina realized how much she had been missing out on by rushing through life. Over the next few weeks, John and Katrina went on more dates, and their relationship blossomed. John helped Katrina slow down and appreciate the little things in life. They went for walks in the park, watched sunsets, and took weekend trips to nearby towns. Katrina was amazed at how much joy she found in these simple pleasures.

Katrina's colleagues and friends noticed a change in her demeanor. She seemed happier and more relaxed. She had a glow about her that she never had before. They couldn't believe that the same workaholic they knew had transformed into a woman who actually took time to smell the roses.

Katrina's relationship with John continued to grow stronger. They fell deeply in love, and Katrina realized that she had found something that she had been missing all along. She had found someone who loved her for who she was and helped her become a better person.

One day, John surprised Katrina with a weekend getaway to a beach house. They spent their days lounging on the beach, swimming in the ocean, and enjoying each other's company. As they watched the sunset on the last day of their trip, John got down on one knee and proposed to Katrina. Tears streamed down Katrina's face as she said yes. She couldn't believe that she had found such a wonderful man who had changed her life in so many ways.

Now, Katrina still has a successful career, but she takes time to enjoy life. She goes on vacations with John, spends time with her friends, and takes up hobbies like painting and cooking. She has learned that life is too short to rush through it, and that the little things in life are often the most important.
