DOG is a hilarious comedy that tells the story of two former Army Rangers who are forced to embark on an unforgettable road trip together. Briggs (played by the talented Channing Tatum) and his unlikely companion, Lulu, a Belgian Malinois dog, hit the road in a 1984 Ford Bronco with one goal in mind: to make it to the funeral of a fellow soldier on time.

As they travel down the beautiful Pacific Coast, the duo will experience a series of wild misadventures, breaking a few laws along the way and narrowly escaping death. Despite driving each other crazy, they'll learn to let their guards down, bond with one another, and find a path to happiness.

The film is rated PG-13 and belongs to the comedy genre. It's presented in the English language and directed by Reid Carolin and Channing Tatum. DOG is produced by Gregory Jacobs, Peter Kiernan, Brett Rodriguez, and Channing Tatum. The writing credits go to Reid Carolin and Brett Rodriguez.

The movie hit theaters on February 18, 2022, and has grossed $61.8M in the United States. The runtime is approximately 1 hour and 41 minutes. The distributor of the movie is United Artists Releasing. The sound mix is Dolby Digital, and the aspect ratio is Scope (2.35:1). DOG promises to be an entertaining movie that will make you laugh, cry, and fall in love with its characters.

Briggs, portrayed by Channing Tatum, may feel that his Army Ranger injuries have stripped away everything he had and needed, but he refuses to dwell on it. Despite his doctor's warnings of permanent damage, Briggs is determined to rejoin the Rangers as service provides him with structure, purpose, camaraderie, and enough excitement to avoid contemplating the many things he doesn't want to think about, such as the possibility of losing more. However, Briggs requires authorization from an officer to be readmitted into the Rangers, who consider themselves the "premier direct-action raid force" of the Army. Despite multiple rejections, Briggs is eventually given the chance to be reinstated if he can deliver an Army dog named Lulu to a veteran's funeral. Lulu is a brave Belgian Malinois who has suffered severe trauma from being in a war zone, rendering her unapproachable, and she is scheduled to be put down after the funeral

Initially reluctant to take on the task, Briggs ultimately accepts the challenge, recognizing that this is his chance to get back into the service. However, delivering Lulu to the funeral proves to be far from straightforward, with numerous challenges along the road trip from Oregon to Arizona. Moreover, Briggs is forced to confront past connections, both in person and through a heartfelt notebook kept by Lulu's former handler.

As both co-director and actor, Channing Tatum impresses with his range, displaying vulnerability and depth beyond his all-American charm. Rather than hiding his struggles, Tatum allows us to see the inner turmoil that Briggs is trying to suppress. While Tatum and co-director Reid Carolin make some safe choices in the film, relying on postcard-pretty shots of the countryside and predictable song choices, they succeed in creating a moving story of two wounded warriors, one human, and one canine, healing each other.

Although the film's tone and quality may be uneven at times, it shows promise, leaving us optimistic about the future for the wounded warriors and the people who have shared their story. Along the way, Briggs and Lulu learn that the skills they honed in the military may need to be unlearned or kept in check. They must learn to approach their goals differently, both in their civilian lives and in the military. The film features some thought-provoking performances, including Jane Adams' delicate portrayal of a character that could have been caricatured, and interactions with two other veterans that prove to be both engaging and insightful. Overall, "Dog" is a poignant story of redemption and the power of human-animal connection
