When NEET Result 2020 will be announced, Know Everything about Marks, Cutt off and Seats

NEET Result 2020: Neet entrance exam held on September latest month’s 13th and according to NTA official update it’s results going to announce on 12 October.

Although Neet’s a tough exam to crack despite that around 16 lakh students registered themselves for taking this exam and due to completion getting a good ranking is solely depend on student’s scores.

And the candidates who attended the Neet 2020 exam can check their neet results on 12 October at ntaneet.nic.in by entering their roll no.

Neet Result 2020 - Here are the full steps to download your result

1: Go to the Official NEET result website by NTA - ntaneet.nic.in

2: Tap on “View NEET-UG 2020 -Result”

3: Candidate login page will appear on the screen. Enter credentials such as- roll number, Date of Birth, security pin.

4: Submit. NEET rank card 2020 will be displayed on the screen.

5: Download the NEET 2020 result

6: Take a print out of NEET result

Minimum marks required in Neet for MBBS

There are total of 283 government medical colleges in India that offer 42,565 (updated) seats. And 262 Private medical colleges out of which more than 40 are affiliated to deemed medical universities.

These combined 563 medical colleges provide 80,055 seats.

As per the last year’s result of NEET-UG 2019, General category (also called as an unreserved category) aspirants need minimum 134 marks (50 percentile).

On the other hand, UR-PH (Unreserved - Physical Handicapped) requires 45 percentile and SC/OBC/ST needs 107 marks (40 percentile).

For those who don’t know what is the percentile?

Percentile used in NEET to determine students rankings. For example, 50 percentile means you must scores higher more than 50% of students appeared in NEEt.

It is assumed for previous cutoffs, for getting admission in Govt. medical colleges under an unreserved category or general, students have to get minimum 520 to 600 marks depending on states.

And to get admission in the Good Private Medical college you need to score 350 marks in NEET UG. This is for general category students.

But for SC category students, they have to secure between 107 to 119 marks for eligible to get admission. (2019)

Whereas, OBC category students also need 40 percentile score for NEET. And to get MBBS admission they need more than 120 to 133 minimum marks. This is based on last year(2019) cut-off.

Total Mbbs Seats in India (2020 Updated)

Here are Total medical colleges in India with their Seat distribution details.

Total number of the medical college offering MBBS in India= 563

Number of MBBS seats that these 563 colleges provide combined= 80055 (As on 12.08.2020)

In which, the total number of Government medical colleges is 283

Number of Private medical colleges= 218

Private Deemed Universities= 44

Central Deemed Universities= 03

Number of AIIMS in India= 15

When you will total above it will be 563 for all combined medical colleges in India.

And If we talk about the number of total MBBS seats in all the above Private colleges, Govt. colleges and Deemed colleges it is as given below:

The total number of MBBS SEATS in Govt. medical colleges is 42155.

Number of MBBS SEATS in Private medical colleges= 30700

Private and Central MBBS SEATS in Deemed Universities= 7700

NEET Cutoff 2020

Eligible Candidates can only appear in NEET counselling and seat allocation process if they meet NEET 2020 cut off.

As I already said above the qualifying criteria is 50 percentile for Unreserved (General) category, 45 percentile for UR-PH and 40 percentile for SC/OBC/ST students.

NEET Result 2020: Tie-breaking Criteria

What is Tie-breaking Criteria ?

Tie-breaking criteria are applied when two or more candidates obtain the same NEET scores. But who will eligible for the merit.

Suppose, Ravi and Teja got same marks so in this case Tie-breaking criteria will be applied.

In such cases, Following mentioned criteria are followed:

Biology marks: Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the exam will be preferred in NEET 2020 result.

Chemistry marks: If the ‘Biology marks’ criteria fail, Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry will be preferred.

Less incorrect marks: If the above two tactics are followed and the tie still persists, Candidates with less number of attempted wrong answers in all the subjects will be given a higher order of merit.

If all the above criteria fail, the candidate who is older in age will be considered over others.
