The career opportunities of the 21st century vary and have some very interesting offers. The technologies and industries have developed well enough in order to offer exclusive fields. Some of the professions have disappeared with time because they have become useless and irrelevant to modern reality. Yet, while some professions disappear others pop up.

We all know what are the most demanded and popular career choices nowadays. The popularity of certain fields is determined by the demand of the current market. So far, the need for developers and tech engineers is very high and is still increasing. This is because our era is known as the technology era, with any kind of technological progress and innovations taken in place.

While we all have a clear view and a list of the most demanded professions and the most required careers, hardly ever anyone thinks of the weirdest professions and career choices. No one would think of becoming a toy or roller coaster designer. No one would think of becoming a painter, many would consider learning graphic design or UX/UI design and work in any of the big corporations with some decent salary.

The best undergraduate degrees are well known and we all have at least the basic idea of what they look like and what they offer, though what about the weirdest degrees you can have and how to use them in your future career.

Gambling Major

Gambling is a huge sphere, millions of people gamble online or offline. While we all know that the gambling industry is huge and very lucrative for the casinos especially, hardly ever anyone knows that the gambling major exists. Personally, I don't even know anyone with a similar major and background. Though the fact tells that it is becoming more and more popular now.

An undergraduate program in gaming and casino management ensures professionalism and excellence within this specialization of hospitality management. Among interested students, the majority are Norwegians. While the online gambling industry is not very popular in Norway itself, the Norwegian students are seeking for the new opportunities to learn on the faculty, which is promising and brings a lot of profit. According to norskcasino.online, students of this faculty can study aspects of surveillance, fair game procedures, asset protection, change management, ethics, and casino infrastructure. Several courses are available with this program. Some of them include casino industry service gaming rules, player development, casino accounting, and the casino market.

To be honest, all of the aspects are obviously a necessary component for a good casino employee, but there is nothing different from the students who learn the administration, customer relation, and business development. All of them would be pretty successful in the industry. Though, some people who want to be engaged in the gambling sphere only, obviously prefer studying a very narrow niche and perhaps being the best of the best.

Where do those students end up, you would ask. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), jobs in the gaming services industry will grow by 2% between 2018 and 2028. The BLS stated that the job outlook for individuals working in this field will have a 5% growth during this period. Gaming managers are predicted to see a 7% increase in employment, while gaming supervisors are predicted to experience a 9% growth. The salary of the person in the management is quite valid, with around $90K a year.

If you love the professional and the field, then you most probably are willing to continue your studies with the same or similar niche. This is possible, as there are quite a few options to develop and focus on during your master's degree. A Master of Business Administration in Casino Management trains students for managerial positions in the field and offers studies in business aspects, management theories, and casino industry characteristics.

Some of the courses are very interactive and teach students, everything around the industry. These include the coursework in-game procedures, business statistics, and gaming sociology with hands-on training in the field. By the end of the university, you should already be the one to know about the gambling industry and casino everything. Graduates of these programs can pursue work in the gaming services industry, or they can pursue master's degrees, like a Master of Business Administration.

Viticulture and Enology

This is another very interesting though very rare faculty, which you can find at Cornell University. The profession of a sommelier is very popular and definitely brings a good salary. Winemaking is obviously also very interesting and has a lot to do with wine cultivation and breeding. Though, there is the Viticulture and Enology faculty on the other side, which is pretty weird and not very popular among the people.

Hardly ever you will meet schoolers who are very experienced in winemaking and are experts of the wine. The profession is very complex and besides interest, it also requires certain skills that are to be possessed specifically. The industry is huge and in order to be an expert in wine, you should have at least tasted most of it.

Though, if you are fascinated by this opportunity and want to know more, there is an available course at Cornell University in New York. The university course offers students extensive knowledge courses in solid, grapes and vinification, with the major focus on the challenges specific to the wine-growing in the Northeast.

Moreover, as a bonus of the faculty, students have the opportunity to intern at one of the New Tork's 1,400 vineyards and wineries while earning their degree. This major is the best for aspiring to work in the winemaking industry, vineyard management, and wine business. The benefit of it is obviously the chance to get practice and experience even before finishing your university.

Packaging Science

So far, this is one of the weirdest faculties I have ever come across with. The packaging science faculty exists at Michigan State University. I don't know anything about you, but personally, for me, packings were always made by universal scientists and biologists, who know what material goes well with what and who can analyze the state of the product. I did not have a clue that a specific major was dedicated to packaging science.

Obviously, packaging is the science with many behind the scene consideration, such as materials, design, and environmental impact, which has become one of the major concerns for all of us, especially throughout the past period of time. At Michigan State University, you can get a packaging science Bachelor's, Master's, or even a Ph.D. degree. You may have a question about why someone is interested in the faculty. Here is what you should know. The average starting salary of the job is $63,237 and a job placement rate of 97%. Grads of the School of Packaging go on to be packaging engineers/designers, consumer behavior analysts, packaging operators, and food scientists.

Does not matter how far we go and what is the next technological invention, it is obvious that there always will be some professions and specializations, which shall impress and surprise us by their existence. Those were just a few examples of unusual career choices. If you have not made up your mind for yourself yet, maybe you should consider any of the above-mentioned ones.
