This condition is likely to be an inherited trait seen early in childhood, and with time and age, dark circles may open and become darker.

6. Other reasons

The cause of dark circles may not be limited to what was mentioned previously, as it may also include each of the following reasons as well:

Anemia.

Eye strain.

Excessive exposure to sunlight.

The use of some ophthalmic solution medications to treat glaucoma, such as: Latanoprost and Bimatoprost.

Skin inflammation, such as contact dermatitis and eczema.

Rubbing the eyes, which causes swelling under the eyes and rupture of blood vessels.

After we previously mentioned in detail the cause of dark circles, you must now know the risk factors that may increase your chance of being exposed to this type of symptom or health condition.

Here are the most important factors:

Smoking.

Excessive drinking of alcohol.

Excessive stress.

Following some unhealthy sleeping habits.

How to treat dark circles

There are many methods that can be followed to treat dark circles, including:

Dark circles can be treated naturally at home by doing the following:

Get enough sleep.

Use cold compresses.

Elevate the head with additional pillownnder the eyes at night.

Placing cucumber slices on the the eyes at night.

Placing cucumber slices on the eyes may help relieve puffiness. Because cucumber is rich in water and vitamin C.
