The Dangers of Being a Teacher during the Pandemic
As I am writing this I am thinking about how many of my family members and friends have died to COVID-19, I am thinking about how many of my fellow teachers have gotten sick, I am thinking of how many of my students have contracted this illness, and I am thinking about how my school insists that the teachers, staff, and students who have been caught COVID-19 in our campus have not been infected at school, but mostly at family gatherings, funerals, because they failed to wear a mask properly or at all, and a plethora of other reasons.

"Hey. Boys. Hush," I mumbled, delicately inching my glasses back up my nose. "We need to finish our stories about Tupac and Kendrick Lamar for your English teacher."

It all started one year when I was sent a link to a site called Kiva. The idea behind Kiva was to do something about the lack of micro-loans available for people who didn’t have the wherewithal to get loans because they were bad credit risks or lived in places which didn’t have traditional banks. When you go on the website, you can pick a country, a type of person or a group, a goal the person asking for the loan is working towards — it offers information that allows the lender, you and all the other people interested in helping the person/group, to feel like you know where your money is going to go and why.

Back in the 1920s, Katonah resident William “Doc” Smith began a lifelong affiliation with the Scouts when he joined in Cold Spring, NY. After completing his studies in pediatrics and serving as a Captain in WWII, he settled in Katonah to practice medicine. He also started his association with Troop 1 in Katonah. Thus, February 9, 2006 was marked at the Katonah Methodist Church to celebrate his 50 years as Scout Master of the troop. But the milestone’s significance was not meant to imply an ending of any sort.

Hey, welcome to part two. In this section we are going to talk about some things we can do to help those kids who think they are failing, not improving and who want to quit. Over the years I have worked with lots of kids who fit that category and it's not easy to work with them at times, since they have such a negative mind set. So I have changed up my tactics a bit.

Fires. Covid. Shutdowns. Violence. Protests. Elections. Murder hornets. Black Plague squirrels. 2020 was nuts, and 2021 is looking like it might also be considering a bid for craziest year in recent history.

Brittany HibbardPublished 3 years ago in EducationHow can tutors help students to improve their Academic skills?
In a decade where home tutoring has slowly transitioned into online tutoring for many, apart from rolling with the punches with the teaching style, tuition teachers have had to also adapt to the dynamic changes within the learning style and capabilities of the student population.

I think it is fair to say that the Covid pandemic has affected everyone in some way. Some of us have had to change the way we work. For some, the changes have been insignificant while, for others, they have been devastating.
