A large number of students from all over the world decide to study abroad. Every year, many universities in the world receive applications for admission from international students. Selected students get opportunities to study abroad. Students who study abroad are required to pay special attention towards their wellbeing.

Quite obviously, students need to have good health while studying abroad. But, physical health is not the only thing, which is counted under wellbeing. As a matter of the fact, mental health and emotional health are also part of your wellbeing.

You can do some useful practices for your physical, mental, and emotional health while living abroad. Here, you will read about them.

Yogic Postures and Breathing Exercises

Yogic postures and breathing exercises are considered the best for physical, mental, and emotional health. For yogic postures and some breathing exercises, you need some training. Today, yoga training centers can be found all over the world. So, wherever you are enrolled, you may probably find a yoga training center in a nearby area.

Some student accommodation properties have yoga rooms where you can perform yogic postures and breathing exercises. If yoga rooms are not found, then these postures and exercises can be done in the student rooms and open spaces in accommodation complexes.

Different yogic postures affect different parts of the body. So, they are good for physical health. Some of the postures also positively affect your brain. Besides, breathing exercises are considered good for the mind and for controlling your emotions. Some breathing exercises are also good for your physical health.

In the breathing exercises, deep breathing is the simplest form that you can do. It helps you in healing the mind and controlling the emotions. Another perfect breathing exercise is alternative breathing. In this type, you need to close one nostril and inhale the breath from the other and then open the first nostril and close the other one and exhale the breath from the other. You have to repeat this from both nostrils. Throwing the breath outside the body through the nose, again and again, is also a good breathing exercise. These two exercises are also good for your mind and emotions and they have some physical health benefits also.

You can do the above-mentioned two exercises on your own by watching demonstration videos on YouTube. It is recommended to you to do the next two exercises after some training. One of them is inhaling breath inside the body and holding it in the body for a few seconds. Another one is exhaling breath outside the body and holding it outside for a few seconds.

Swimming and Diving

Swimming and diving are also good for physical, mental, and emotional health. For diving, you need to see the appropriate places and arrangements in your host city. Similarly, you can find places for swimming. But, you may find an in-house swimming pool in your student accommodation complex.

Meditation

Meditation is good for your mind and for controlling the emotions. Meditation can be done in yoga rooms, open spaces, and student apartments. You can choose among plenty of types of meditational practices prevalent today. Some of these types are transcendental meditation, breathing meditation, mantra meditation, guided meditation, and more.

Playing sports is undoubtedly good for your physical health. In addition, sports put a good effect on your brain also. They can improve your memory and reduce your depression and anxiety. Therefore, you must play sports while living in your host city.

You will definitely find playgrounds and sports courts in your college and university. On the other hand, some accommodation properties also have the sports courts like volleyball courts, basketball courts, and tennis courts.

Sports are considered the best methods to do exercise along with having fun.

Talk to Your Friends

Talking to friends is one of the best methods to stay emotionally healthy. You can make several new friends in your college, university, and accommodation property. You can also talk to your old friends in your native place via voice calling, video calling, and messaging.
