How the Chinese character 我 (read as wo in 3rd tone) which means I, me, or oneself, symbolizes the courage and strength?

Once upon a time in ancient China, there was a young warrior named Wei, who lived in a small village nestled among the mountains. Wei was known for his courage, strength, and unwavering sense of loyalty.

Wei's interest to martial arts had made him tirelessly train himself from his young age. He made honing his skills with weapons and learning the ways of battle as a mean of game to play.

His bravery also has been known by the villagers since his younger boy years. Wei never afraid to stand for what he think is right, no matter who he has to face.

One day, a ruthless warlord, known for his cruelty, and thirst for power began to terrorize the villages in all around his land. Villages were pillaged, innocent people were taken as slaves, resulting in fears which spread like wildfire.

With a lance in his hand, he set out to confront the warlord and put an end to his reign of terror. The journey was perilous, but Wei's courage and determination never withered.

As Wei approached the warlord's fortress, he encountered fierce resistance from the warlord's soldiers, which are heavily armed, and fought with all their might to protect their lord. He kept on pressing forward though, with his spirit of justice which shine brighter than any weapon.

The warlord sneered, convinced of his own superiority, but Wei stood firm. With every strike, Wei showed his skill and mastery. As the two clashed their weapons, the warlord sense his impending defeat, thus he's trying to turn the tide in his favor, but in the end Wei struck down the warlord and brought peace back to the land.

On another time, a band of vicious bandits descended upon Wei's village, causing chaos and destruction everywhere. The villagers can only trembled in fear as the bandits looted their homes and belongings, while threatened their loved ones.

With a swift movement, and eyes blazing with determination, Wei stood tall, charged the bandits with his lance. Nothing in his mind, but the desire to protect his people.

The fierce battle ensued. The bandits were taken aback by Wei's bravery and ferocity.

Despite being outnumbered, no matter how loud the sound of the clashing weapons, or how many arrows soared through the air, while the ground shook with the force of their struggle, Wei fought with all his might, never wavering in his resolve.

Wei's determination to defend his village and people fueled his every strike, his every move. With a final, powerful blow, Wei defeated the bandits and sent them running for their lives.

The story of Wei's selflessness and bravery spread far and wide, inspiring others to stand up against tyranny and injustice. People from distant lands sought his counsel and guidance, hoping to learn from his example, but Wei humbly said that true strength comes from the heart, while loyalty to one's values is the most powerful weapon of all. Thus, the legacy of Wei, the courageous young warrior from a small village in ancient China, lived on for generations to come.

The Chinese character wǒ which means I, me, or oneself, symbolizes the courage and strength of the young warrior. Consist of 3 radicals or components, namely 丿(left falling stroke), 扌 (left hand), and 戈 (spear/lance), the character wǒ represent the courage, loyalty, love, and determination, in addition to it's strength or physical characteristic, as a reminder that true strength comes from within, from the depth of one's own character.

I enjoyed reading your story! I like how the characters in Chinese writing carry so much meaning and they look like artwork without effort (even though I know it takes a lot of effort to learn.) It also reminded me that in secondary school, I was fascinated with Chinese calligraphy and made a few characters that I painstakingly cut out and used as decoration, words like "love" and "truth." I hadn't thought of that since reading your story, so thank you very much for writing it!
