Quran recitation holds a great importance and is wrapped with uncountable rewards by the Almighty. Recitation is incomplete without the beautification of the letters and it should be focused on the serious note.

Here are some of the useful tips to follow if you want to recite or learn the quran with Tajweed (beautification of letters) perfectly.

1. Focus on the articulation points.

All the Arabic alphabets have a particular point from where it is uttered and without the proper utterance the letter is not considered perfect in pronunciation. So, you need to focus on the articulation points of all the letters in order to gain perfection.

For example; In Arabic " ا" and "ع" both have different articulation points. You can only differentiate between them by uttering from the exact point.

2. Recite slowly and beautifully.

Surah Al-Muzzammil says it clearly to Recite Quran beautifully.

And recite Al-Quran with Tarteel (slowly and beautifully).

The reason it is said to read the verses slowly and by giving them their due sound is that it will help you focus on the Tajweed and make it perfect.

If you will read it in haste with out focusing on the beautification, then the words will go wrong and even you will not enjoy what you just read.

3. Take Notes Of your Tajweed Mistakes.

That is the most important tip to adopt if you want to recite Quranic verses with Tajweeed and Tarteel.

Take notes of your mistakes when you are reading. Let's suppose, you recite the word اَعْطَيْناَ (a'a-tuai-naa) from Surah Al-kauther as اتَیْناَ (aa-tai-naa). Mark the word with a highlighter and recite by looking at the Mushaf, when you reach your mis-spelled word, stop and read it correctly thrice and then move on.

Taking notes of your errors help you beware of grave mistakes. Also it is better to get online tajweed classes for professional tutors so that you can learn properly.

4. Get help from a professional.

When you intend to learn something that is mandatory, you need to invest time in the formal learning. Hire a professional tutor who could start teaching you from the basics, ans move on to the advanced level like the teachers of Hidayah Network do.

They device a customised plan for each student according to their prior understanding and begin the lessons.

5. Listen and imitate your favourite Qari.

If you are passionate about adorning your voice with perfect Tajweed rules then take out some time from your busy routine and listen to the recitation of your favourite Qari. Try to imitate the verses as they recite them.

Listen to the Ayaat while driving, while working, even while playing. Let the beautiful tones go direcrly to your heart to motivate you to copy it.

6. Set a goal and pursue it daily.

If you have multiple rules to work on, then set a goal for yourself and strive for it daily. Let's suppose your Idgham rule or qalqalah rule needs practice. Set a goal for one of them to get perfect in a week's practice. Then, practice it daily to get it right.

7. Practice Verses with Tajweed in your salah.

The working class and full-time house wives find it difficult to take a special time out of their schedules to work on their Tajweed. So, the best option for you is to recite the verses with Tajweed whenever you stand for you salah. Even your Allah-u-Akbar should have its due recognition. The "ل "and " ر" should be pronounced properly.

Every single gesture should be performed nicely and should be given proper time. In this way you can make your Tajweed perfect.

8. Learn the rules of Quran recitation to get perfect.

Once you have worked really hard on your basic Tajweed, don't just stop there. Learn something new everyday to get as closer to the recitation of our Prophet Muhammad SAWW as you can.

Make a slogan of your life "The day you nothing learn something, is a day wasted."

Push yourself to start learning the advanced recitation rules like where to stop while reciting and where to pause, etc.

End notes.

Remember, the more you strive, the best will be the result and not to forget that Allah is البصیر (The All-Seeing). He is aware of every single effort you are putting in making your tajweed perfect. insha Allah you will be rewarded abundantly.
