“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever” – Mahatma Gandhi

Education is the Basic right of human beings. Education is the only way if you are willing to change the world, it can be a great weapon. In the field of education. India has the largest education system in the world just after China. Education is also a way to emerging new opportunities in every field or we can say that it is a way to the outer and wider world.

Unfortunately, the concern of education in rural areas is a bigger issue and the biggest challenge for the Indian government.

According to a survey 87% of schools in country villages and 90% of government schools in rural areas. The main reason for concern is literacy in India is only 77.7%. In which urban area contains 87.7% literacy and the rural area only stands for 73.5% literacy. That difference shows that the education system in rural areas needs a lot of improvement in many areas. Nearly 65.53% population lives in rural area but that does not make a difference because there is a huge gap between rural and urban education in India.

MAJOR REASONS OF THIS CONDITION IN RURAL AREAS

The less resources in rural areas and the lack of infrastructure in schools is one of reasons for this condition. The resources like labs, tables, fans, computers and mainly washrooms if they present in some area they will be in the worst condition. Even with the lack of textbooks in some schools, if they are available they will be in bad condition and the main challenge for the government is availability of teachers in rural areas. They only got a few teachers.

Awareness for education is very important to improve the condition in rural areas. Children from many families are bound to work from a very young age due to lack of awareness of their parents towards education. Many families believed that their childrean and especially girls should not study much, they should help them in their work related issues only. They feel that they should start learning some work at a young age; it helps them in earning rather than study.

Technology is also a main reason for such a big gap between rural and urban study.

In the rural area students lack in the technology department, the biggest example of this is the coronavirus pandemic where students had to attend online classes but in some rural areas, they lack in technology and network departments which leads them to not being able to get the education.

The other main difference is innovative and digital learning methods. In rural areas the teachers lack innovative ideas, they will stick to the old learning methods, it is still primitive and very much traditional which needs to be changed. They should be more focused on concept learning and also on skill based competitions. It will also help students to grow their skills and personality development. Sadly, there is a huge digital gap also between rural areas and urban areas. The country India is itself developing in the technology department, but the many schools in the rural areas are still required to get computer education. If it happens, it helps them to get better day by day and decrease the gap between urban and rural areas.

THE CONCLUSION

Some of the key points that help a lot in improving are the free education in the country or very minimum fee structure which helps in the majority of rural areas, and also literacy rate improves.

Also the improvising in infrastructure helps a lot like in stationary, textbooks, computers, labs etc.The government should bring more schemes towards education which helps it boost in rural areas.Awareness about education and its rights, build more schools, improve in technology and ideas will be a great help.

The government is still working to improve this current situation in the country, but it seems like it is a long way ahead.
