They inspire us, inform us and entertain us. Books are an incredible source of entertainment that can help you dig deeper into topics you’re interested in. Books aren’t just great sources for entertainment but they can also teach us many things as well. There are some books which have been loved by people across the globe and there are few who were even considered as “Books Of The Century” by critics and scholars. So let’s take a look at these best books of all times!

Atonement

Atonement by Ian McEwan.

The novel Atonement by Ian McEwan was published in 2001, and it won the Man Booker Prize. It is set in a small village in England during the 1930s and 1940s. The story revolves around two families: the Brontes and the St. John's. The Brontes live in a house on a hillside with their son Robbie, while Raymond, the son of James and his wife Joan, lives in a house next door with his sister Cecilia. Both families have secrets that have been kept from one another for decades. In addition to these secrets, there are other mysteries going on around them as well: Why does Robbie’s older brother Michael commit suicide? Why does Cecilia kill herself? And why does Robbie become obsessed with finding out what happened to his dead sister?

Atonement is an excellent example of historical fiction because it uses language to give readers a sense of place and time period while also drawing parallels between today's issues and those experienced by people centuries ago. The book also contains some very moving scenes where characters struggle with feelings or actions that they regret later on as well as exchanges between characters who know each other well but have

Wolf Hall

Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel

This is the story of Thomas Cromwell, the middle-aged courtier who served Henry VIII. It is also a history of England during the reign of Henry VIII and his wives, Anne Boleyn and Catherine of Aragon. The novel begins as Cromwell is summoned to court as a young man and ends when he becomes chief minister under Henry VIII in 1536. It is a gripping tale of power politics and religious zeal, told in scenes of shocking brutality.

Mantel’s writing is brilliant; she takes her time to tell her story, showing you what it was like to live at that time without rushing through everything. And she makes you care about her characters as they do horrible things in order to further their political ambitions.

The Corrections

The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen

The Corrections is a novel about the dysfunction of a wealthy, sophisticated family in their '70s. The story follows the rise and fall of two brothers, both of whom are struggling with their identities as men. One brother is a successful novelist who has written a critically successful novel; the other is an underachieving artist who has yet to produce anything that can be called art. The novel is set in a narrow frame around the rough lives of these two brothers, their spouses and their children as they struggle with their own self-doubts while trying to figure out what it means to be a man in America at this time in our history.

The Corrections was Franzen's first foray into fiction since he won the National Book Award for his earlier novels Freedom and The Corrections; it was also his fourth novel published in his lifetime. It was met with mixed reviews upon its publication. Some critics praised it for its use of language and its portrayal of contemporary American life; others criticized it for being too dense and complicated for its own good. The Corrections has been translated into many languages including French, German and Spanish
