Though the political world might have you thinking otherwise, many students from around the world still want to get their college degree from the United States. The American college industry is one that is widely recognized and accepted throughout the world.

The truth is that American colleges offer networking opportunities, educational attainment, and a good shot at citizenship. However, if you are an international student who wants to reap all those benefits, the exact college you choose will have a huge impact.

If you're wondering where to go, it's crucial to choose a college that can offer support and resources for foreign students. According to experts, the following universities are considered to be the greatest U.S. colleges for international students to attend.

Note: We are not including any online colleges in this list.

Babson College—Wellesley, MA

Babson might not be one of the most well-known universities in the United States, but it recently took the #1 position on the Forbes list of the "50 Best U.S. Colleges for International Students."

So, what makes this liberal arts college so hot? It boasts needs-based financial aid for foreign students, is fully accredited, and also has a diverse class that has around a quarter of all students hailing from other countries.

Babson is so highly regarded in the international community, staff at this university even joke about being more known in Asia than in the United States.

Carnegie Mellon University—Pittsburgh, PA

Research-ready, science-heavy Carnegie Mellon University is one of the other top-rated U.S. colleges for international students. To a point, it's not surprising that this is the case. This elite university has become famous for spearheading science research, and having hosted over 20 Nobel Prize laureates.

The college has international branches in places as far as Rwanda, and also has been known for bringing in the world's greatest programmers. Carnegie may be expensive, but the return on investment you'll get from a degree will pay off.

Princeton University—Princeton, NJ

Saying that you attend Princeton always sounds like a brag, and that's because it kind of always is a brag. The world's leaders regularly send their children to Princeton so that they can make connections with people who will end up ruling the globe.

Excellent financial aid for domestic and foreign nationals make this an Ivy League school worth attending—as well as an affordable one. Education at this school, too, also remains top notch. The average Princetonite should expect to earn $60,000 as a starting salary, making it one of the best payoffs on this list.

To this day, Princeton leads the pack among all Ivy League research universities, including heavy hitters like Columbia University.

University of Chicago—Chicago, IL

When it comes to offering a huge amount of aid, it's really hard to beat the University of Chicago. According to US News, the University of Chicago doled out an average of approximately $62,000 per year for each of its international financial aid recipients.

Like many of the best U.S. colleges for international students, the University of Chicago is known for being very choosy with students and boasting a wide range of accomplishments in its top fields. Students attending can expect fast hire rates and great experiences along the way.

Those who want to go back to their home country with a nice dose of prestige without a hefty price tag would be wise to apply to Chicago.

Florida Institute of Technology—Melbourne, FL

Worried about feeling homesick while you get a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in science or math? You never have to worry about that at the Florida Institute of Technology. The reason why it's considered to be one of the best U.S. colleges for international students is the fact that around 25 percent of all students are foreign-born.

Excellent research facilities and leading teachers in the fields of math, engineering, and aviation make FIT a great option for anyone who wants to advanced degrees in science. Besides, the warm weather will make your school days a much sunnier experience.

Bryn Mawr—Bryn Mawr, PA

If you're looking for a small university that offers unconventional college life, you might want to check out Bryn Mawr. Regularly coming in on top ten lists of the best U.S. colleges for international students, this women's liberal arts college has become known for quality education and a high foreign student population.

Very close staff care, an excellent international reputation, and around 20 percent of all students coming from international backgrounds, make Bryn Mawr a great choice for folks who want to study abroad for their college degree.

SUNY University at Buffalo—Buffalo, NY

The University at Buffalo currently holds one of the largest international student populations in America. Currently, over 5,000 students from over 100 different countries call this place home—and that trend definitely shows no sign of quitting.

With an out-of-state tuition of only $20,000, it's easy to see how this could be one of the more affordable options on this list. Like other foreign-friendly schools, SUNY's Buffalo also has a lot of financial aid available for non-nationals.

UCLA—Los Angeles, CA

The University of California Los Angeles campus has gotten one of the most impressive reputations when it comes to quality academics and having a very positive, diverse student body. UCLA's current student population features over 1,600 foreign students hailing from over 110 different countries.

UCLA's real benefit for international students is a center that helps them deal with culture clash, friendship-making, and other similar issues that may be a struggle for those not used to American culture or feel left out. As such, it's called one of the best U.S. colleges for international students.

University of Colorado—Denver, CO

Another West Coast option for people looking to apply to the best U.S. colleges for international students is the University of Colorado. Like UCLA, the University of Colorado has a large student population, cultural resources in place, and works to attract as many of the world's best and brightest with its many amenities.

Costs for attendance remain in the low $20,000 range for out-of-state students. Thankfully, some financial aid may be available for foreign nationals.

Harvard University—Cambridge, MA

Believe it or not, Harvard currently has one of the largest international student populations in the country. 35 percent of all enrollees come from abroad, and yes, that's partly due to the amount of financial aid Harvard offers students from all walks of life.

According to studies, the average college student at Harvard pays only $2,200 after all the financial aid they receive. Needless to say, it's that massive discount that makes it one of the best U.S. college for international students who have a budget, but offer a lot of talent.
