In the world at large autism has become very rampant and popular, the large population of children, adults, and infants who were born with it tends to communicate differently, and parents who know nothing about this tend to think their children are cursed, because of lack of education they might not have heard anything about this, well fear, not autistic children aren’t cursed in my path I call them special beings. Well in this article I will educate you more about autism, signs, treatment, and diagnosis in other to understand them better.

Autism also known as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability caused by the difference in the brain. Some people with ASD have a known difference such as genetic conditions from families, while other causes are unknown. It's said that people with autism tend to behave, communicate, interact, and learn in ways that are different from most people, that’s the main reason why they are special. Some people with ASD may have advanced communication skills while some are non-verbal.

I remember watching a movie where I saw an autistic patient she was a lawyer, she tends to communicate differently and always says the truth, even if the particular person she was telling the truth doesn’t want to know to avoid hurting their feelings. It isn’t a bad situation sometimes some people need to hear the truth even if it hurts. And why lie instead of telling the truth? Well, some autistic infant or child systems start in the early stage, when the child clocks 12 months its symptoms start becoming visible.

Some children tend to deal with theirs because of particular skills and mind you they tend to relieve themselves with particular objects or things, they tend not to have friends and play with themselves alone they isolate others because they like their company, and some of them tend to have health care providers because of some conditions like anxiety, depression or attention deficit.

Signs and symptoms of an ASD patient: people with ASD often have problems with social communication and interaction I stated earlier, that they restrict and have repetitive interests and behaviors. They have different ways of learning, moving, or paying attention these characteristics may make life challenging for them. They hate noises and physical touch, they get upset if they don’t like certain smells or tastes, they avoid eye contact, they strictly follow daily routines, they take things seriously they don’t know how to take a joke.

Diagnosis: diagnosing an ASD patient is said to be difficult because there is no medical test, like a blood test to diagnose the disorder. Medical doctor looks at the child’s behavior and development to make diagnosis. ASD can sometimes be detected at 18months of age or younger. It’s said by the age 2, a diagnosis by an experienced professional can be considered reliable. However, many children do not receive final diagnosis until they are much older. Some people are not diagnosed until they are adolescents or adults. This delay is said to be harmful because the ASD patient didn’t get the help earlier as expected.

Treatments: these treatments are said to be broken down into segments, though some segments involve different approaches

• Behavioral

• Developmental

• Educational

• Social-relational

• Pharmacological

• Psychological

• Complementary and alternative

In conclusion, ASD isn’t a disease that is transmitted, it’s more of a disorder and ASD patients aren’t weird or different they are special, they just relate to the world differently than us. They make their world and they communicate differently. Parents are advised to study them be there for them try to make them happy and avoid things that trigger their tantrums and anger. They should be stress-free, try to avoid negative comments, and make them comfortable. Well if u want to know more about ASD patients you can as well visit www.cdc.gov for more information. So do you think autism patients should be given a world and be accepted for how special they are?
