10 WARNING SIGNS OF KIDNEY FAILURE
Hello I am Joshua and today we are going to discuss the 10
signs that can indicate that your
kidneys are not functioning well
the purpose of the kidney is whiten for
maintaining the overall health and
balance of the human body
kidney has several functions I am not
going to discuss in detail but some
basic points I would like to mention
first and foremost kidneys are
responsible for filtering waste and
toxins from the blood
it also regulates the amount of fluid in
the body by increasing or decreasing the
urine production
secretes hormone like erythropoietin
which stimulate the production of red
blood cells kidney also helps to convert
inactive vitamin D to its active form
it also regulates the acid-base balance
of her body
so it's important to know if our kidney
is functioning properly
if there is any problem with the
filtration system we will experience
several changes in our body
first let's discuss a few early signs
and symptoms
initially you may experience metallic
taste itchiness in your body and ammonia
brain
metallic test may result from a buildup
of waste products in the bloodstream
that the kidneys are unable to
effectively filter out
when OS products like urea accumulate in
the body due to decreased kidney
function it can lead to changes in test
perception
additionally alteration in the balance
of electrolytes and minerals such as
potassium calcium can contribute to the
test abnormalities
body itching is also due to toxin
buildup in our body
normally ammonia is converted to urea in
the liver and then excreted into the
urine by the kidneys
however in individual with chronic
kidney disease the accumulated urea is
degenerated by salivary ureas into
ammonia
which is then excreted by breathing
this is known as uromic fitter and gives
the breath an ammonia scent
now let's discuss about the later signs
you may experience due to kidney failure
first is edema it is usually seen in the
lower extremities
if you apply pressure on the soiling
with your finger it will leave an
indentation or pit that's why it is
called as pitting edema
this soiling occurs mainly due to
impaired kidney filtration which cause
water retention
when there is fluid retention in the
body gravity tends to cause the fluid to
accumulate in the lower parts of the
body such as the ankles legs and feet
there are other contributing factors
like sodium and water imbalance decrease
albumin levels and hypertension
next important sign is high blood
pressure
as you already know that kidneys act
like a filtration system
healthy kidneys play a vital role in
regulating the body's fluid balance and
filtering out the Oz products
when kidney function is compromised due
to kidney disease they may retain more
fluid and sodium than necessary
this excess fluid and sodium can
increase blood volume leading to
elevated blood pressure
chronic kidney disease can also make the
arteries more stiff and less flexible
stiff arteries result in increased
resistance to the blood flow
contributing to a higher blood pressure
level
kidney disease also disturb the hormonal
balance responsible for blood pressure
regulation this is another reason for
high blood pressure
you may feel exhausted due to kidney
disease there are several reasons like
buildup of toxins and impurities in the
blood which can cause people to feel
tired weak and make it hard to
concentrate
kidneys produce a hormone called
erythropoietin which stimulates red
blood cell production
in kidney disease erythrobatin levels
May decrease leading to a decrease in
red blood cell production
this can result in anemia
this is another reason for tiredness and
exhaustion
if the filtration units of the kidney
get damaged it will lead to protein
leakage in the urine
when your kidneys have only mild damage
and you have only small levels of
protein in your urine you will not
notice any symptoms
when your kidneys have more severe
damage and you have high levels of
protein in your urine you may start to
notice symptoms such as foamy fourthy or
bubbly urine soiling in your hands feet
belly or face urinating more often and
muscle cramps at night
now let's talk about the uromic frost
it is a rare but striking skin finding
seen in patients with severe kidney
disease it is a sign of advanced chronic
kidney disease and becoming less common
in individuals undergoing long-term
hemodialysis for chronic kidney disease
uromic Frost is a white crystalline
material found on the skin which is a
result of the high level of urea in the
bloodstream that leads to a high level
of Uria secretion by soid glands as a
component of soil
as water evaporates of the skin it
results in crystallization of the
remaining area
uromic Frost generally occurs at blood
urine nitrogen levels of approximately
200 milligram per deal although it may
arise with less severe uremia also
remember that uromic Frost is a
life-threatening condition and that
records urgent dialysis
now let's discuss about the nail changes
kidney disease can affect the appearance
of your fingernails toenails or both
people who have advanced kidney disease
can develop a white color on the upper
part of one or more nails and a normal
to reddish brown color just below the
white part as shown here
you may find white bands running across
one or more nails
if you experienced any of the signs it
is important to consult with a
healthcare professional for proper
diagnosis and treatment
remember taking care of your kidneys is
essential for a healthy and Balanced
Life.
