Won't it get hotter in the future? What effect will the Earth's gradual move away from the Sun have on temperatures?

Earth's distance from the sun and its effect on temperature

Because of the presence of the sun, the earth is guaranteed enough heat to maintain the temperature of the surface. Temperature is one of the most important conditions for the birth of living things. In other words, without the sun, there would be no Earth with its diverse biological populations.

With the rapid development of mankind, the Earth's environment has changed, especially on the surface. In recent days, temperatures in many areas have exceeded 40 degrees Celsius for an unprecedented period.

All this indicates that the Earth's temperature is rising rapidly and that extreme weather is seriously affecting the survival of the planet's creatures, as well as the lives of humans.

The Earth gets all its heat from the sun. According to the latest research, the Earth is moving away from the sun. If this is the case, will the Earth get cooler?

Since 2022, the number of natural disasters on Earth has increased significantly and extreme weather is frequent.

Some academics say that global warming will lead to an increase in the number of extreme weather events.

From this perspective, this seems to be the case.

The current situation is critical, with global climate and environmental issues becoming increasingly prominent and already affecting our daily lives. Europe, for example, is suffering from the worst drought in centuries.

Many parts of China are also experiencing scorching heat.

How dire is the extreme weather situation in China?

From the end of July until now, temperatures have exceeded 35 degrees Celsius in areas such as Sichuan, Jianghan, and Jiangnan, for half a month.

In addition to the high temperatures, most areas in the south, such as Shenzhen and Guangzhou, have been experiencing continuous rainfall for half a month.

On the one hand, there is drought, on the other hand, there is continuous rainfall. The planet's weather has become "chaotic".

As we all know, the earth goes around the sun. The Earth's orbit is not circular, but elliptical, so the Earth's position to the Sun varies from far to near, hence the perihelion and aphelion. The average distance from the Earth to the Sun is about 150 million kilometers or one astronomical unit. Astronomical units are units of distance that scientists use to calculate and represent distances in the universe.

However, when we study the distance between the Earth and the Sun, we find that the Sun and the Earth seem to be getting further apart, which means that the Sun is gradually losing energy. The sun's gradual aging process causes a reduction in its mass, which is converted into energy in the universe. In other words, the sun is constantly sacrificing itself and then illuminating the Earth.

Scientists have calculated that every second, the sun will lose four million tonnes of mass. Although the mass lost is only nine oxen and one hair, it will become smaller and smaller over time. This also causes the Earth to gradually move away from the Sun.

It is an inevitable and universal law that the Sun, the Earth, or any other planet will one day come to an end.

If the sun burns itself desperately, it will lose 0.1% of its mass in a few billion years. In time, the sun will gradually turn into a white dwarf, and eventually no, one will care.

Some people may ask: Since the Earth is gradually moving away from the Earth, does that mean that the Earth will become cooler? Don't we have to worry about global warming?

Actually no!

Because the distance between the Sun and the Earth is increasing, but at such a slow rate that it can simply be ignored. What's more, for the Earth's orbit, such small changes can be largely ignored outright.

So in essence, the distance from the Earth will not have a great impact, nor will it change the Earth's climate, let alone directly affect global warming.

However, with enough time, it is still possible to cool things down. Scientists say the distance between the Sun and the Earth will affect the Earth's climate in about a billion years.

The fact is that it is unrealistic for us to rely on the relationship between the position of the Earth and the Sun to solve the problem of global warming.

In the end, global warming is more due to the increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere as a result of human development and activities, so to solve the problem, we need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

In this way, the earth can return to normal.
