There are a huge number of small objects in our solar system. They are very small in mass, usually very fast, and their orbits can easily become unstable due to the influence of other celestial bodies, so there are often small objects that crash into the Earth.

In most cases, these small objects are burned away by high temperatures as they pass through the atmosphere at high speeds, but if some small objects are massive enough and have a dense enough structure, they may break through the Earth's atmospheric "defenses" and form a variety of meteorites when their debris falls to the Earth's surface. meteorites.

The mysterious "Chelyabinsk meteorite"

On February 15, 2013, a large meteorite fall occurred in Chelyabinsk, Russia, in which an asteroid with a mass of about 12,000 tons and a diameter of about 18 meters entered the Earth's atmosphere from the direction of Pegasus, after which the asteroid soon transformed into a dazzling "big fireball The asteroid soon turned into a dazzling "fireball" and crashed into the Earth's surface at high speed.

Fortunately, the "big fireball" did not hit the ground directly, it exploded at a distance of about 23.3 kilometers from the ground, but the shock wave from the explosion caused damage to more than 7,200 buildings and injured about 1,500 people.

The meteorite fall soon attracted attention, and soon afterward, some careful people zoomed in and slowed down the actual video and discovered that the "Chelyabinsk meteorite" was suspected to have been broken by a UFO (unidentified flying object).

Researchers have also added a filter effect to it.

The researchers pointed out that, according to actual measurements, the Chelyabinsk meteorite was about to hit the ground at a speed of about 30 kilometers per second, while the UFO caught up with the meteorite from behind and then smashed it, indicating that its speed is much faster than the meteorite. Falling meteorites, should not be able to do.

So there are people who put forward all kinds of speculation, some people think that this should be from the advanced civilization of the UFO in the secret protection of mankind, some people think that this video may be a post-production special effects, there are people who think that this so-called UFO, should be filmed on the vehicle windshield of a piece of stain, we have a variety of opinions, do not agree, the meteorite fall event is also therefore covered with a layer of mystery. The meteorite fall is therefore shrouded in mystery.

Strange crystals found in particles of the Chelyabinsk meteorite suspected to have been shattered by a UFO

In the aftermath of the fall, a large number of meteorite fragments were scattered in the area west of Chelyabinsk, and in the following years, efforts have been made to find and study them.

Recently, a research team led by Russian physicist Sergey Taskaev published a paper claiming to have found two strange crystals in the particles of the Chelyabinsk meteorite.

According to the paper, the explosion of the Chelyabinsk meteorite produced a large number of meteorite particles, and the target of their study was a sample preserved in the snow layer shortly after the explosion, and when the researchers looked at the particle samples through an optical microscope, they found a peculiar "hexagonal rod " shaped crystal structure (shown in the figure below).

After this, the researchers looked at the collected meteorite particles using a more powerful scanning electron microscope (SEM) and subsequently discovered another peculiar crystal structure.

This crystal structure is an overall "quasi-sphere" with a closed structure. In a further study, the researchers used X-rays to probe the interior of the crystals, which showed that the crystals were composed of multiple graphite layers with a core of nanoclusters at their center.

The researchers suggest that these nanoclusters could be either "Buckminster fullerenes," whose molecular structure is a cage-like sphere of 60 carbon atoms, or poly(hexacyclooctadecane) (molecular formula C18H12).

The researchers say that these peculiar crystal structures may have been created under specific conditions (such as high temperature, high pressure, and special catalysts) during the explosion of the meteorite, but the exact mechanism of their formation is still a mystery, and the next step of their exploration is planned to investigate whether these peculiar crystal structures are unique to the "Chelyabinsk meteorite "The next step in their quest is to investigate whether these strange crystal structures are unique to the Chelyabinsk meteorite.

Imagine that these strange crystal structures are unique to the Chelyabinsk meteorite, is it related to the UFO that is suspected to have shattered the meteorite as mentioned above? All in all, it is worthwhile to look forward to subsequent research.
