Non-plastic Campus, the Pioneer experiment to solve plastic pollution

Protect the environment from plastic

First of all, what is an unmolded campus without plastic campus, which means that the commissary does not sell my favorite drinks, do I have to take things with my bare hands when shopping, or can I no longer buy a plastic pencil sharpener at school? plastic-free campus refers to how to minimize disposable plastic packaging and supplies as much as possible.

We can start with some small, continuous changes, and if we do something that is easy to continue every day, it will be easier to stick to it. Since the use of plastic bags for book covers is no longer encouraged in schools, disposable cups are no longer provided in school offices, and student union groups spontaneously do not order takeout. Maybe it's a smaller change. Today's use of a plastic bag is less than yesterday, which is a big change compared with the previous recklessness.

"

In October this year, four departments of the Ministry of Education issued a circular to enhance eco-environmental awareness in primary and secondary schools, in which it is worth noting that substandard plastic products entering schools will be supervised, and schools should strive to achieve the "plastic-free school season." The release of this notice undoubtedly paves the way for the seed of "plastic reduction" to take root and sprout on campus.

Now some avant-garde schools have come forward to take the lead in creating an "unmolded campus", and see what we can learn from it.

Chongqing-plastic restriction on campus

Since the spring semester of 2014, students of Shapingba Children's Art School in Chongqing have paid attention to the problem of white pollution and carried out a study on the small project of "plastic restriction in school". The survey found that a total of 100000 plastic shoe covers were used by 289 students after primary school, while only 29.3% of the school's 389 students had plastic book covers recycled.

In order to build a green school, the school decided to promote "plastic restriction" throughout the school. The main measures are:

1. To carry out the social practice course of environmental protection to cultivate students' environmental awareness.

2。 Through the guidance of DIY interest class, teachers, students and parents of the school have made more than 2000 environmental protection shoe covers, cloth book covers and cloth pockets, reducing the use of plastic book covers by 4568, recycling 1825 kg of waste newspapers, and promoting the development of students' green behavior.

The successful campus action affirmed the efforts of students, parents and teachers to reduce the plasticity, and encouraged the participants to move forward. In November 2015, students reflected to the mayor that they hoped to promote the activity of "campus restriction" throughout the city. After the field investigation of the Municipal Education Commission and the Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, it was decided to take the lead in carrying out the pilot activity of "School plastic restriction" in Shapingba Children's Art School in 2016. From 2016 to 2017, the campus environmental protection activities of "reducing disposable products" represented by "campus plastic restriction" activities were gradually promoted in primary and secondary schools throughout the city.

Taiwan-Wushu Garden Tour

The environmental group Greenpeace has launched an unmolded campus-garden fair program in Taiwan, attracting dozens of universities, primary and secondary schools and even kindergartens to participate in the campaign. The plastic-free program aims to reduce disposable plastic tableware and aims to encourage participants to develop the habit of reducing or even not using disposable plastic tableware through the cooperation of teachers and students and the participation of parents. The activity plan formulates a number of node plans from the beginning of the semester to the end of the garden fair, including pre-publicity and education, preparation of the garden fair, multi-party coordination and other specific implementation plans. According to Greenpeace statistics, 17 garden fairs held in 2017 saved a total of 260946 plastic products, including plastic cups, lids, habits, cutlery, containers and plastic bags.
