Introduction: Morocco is a country located in the northwestern part of the African continent. The country is home to at least 210 species of birds and about 105 species of mammals. Among them, the top 10 rarest animals in the world are the eared fox, comb-toed rat, ground squirrel, dune cat, Moorish gecko, bighorn wild sheep, crowned porcupine, Egyptian mongoose, Barbary macaque, and North African hedgehog. Top 10 Rare Animals in the World

First, the Eared Fox

This little fox is the smallest in the family, weighing only 1.5 to 3.5 pounds. Its body length ranges from 9 inches to 16 inches, while its long ears range from 3.9 inches to 5.9 inches. The fluffy coat is usually cream-colored to reflect heat during the day. This fox is omnivorous and a special adaptation is that it can survive for a long time without water.

Second, the comb-toed mouse

Rodents that grow to 6.3 to 7.9 inches with a shorter tail of less than an inch. The average weight is only 6.5 ounces and is about the same shape as a guinea pig. Can live at elevations up to 9,500 feet. These diurnal herbivores nest under boulders and rock crevices. These animals live in groups and live between three and eleven years.

Third, the ground squirrel

A dwarf rodent with a body length of 6.3 to 8.7 inches and a stubby tail. Their average weight is about 12 ounces. Generally, their fur is reddish brown or grayish brown with white stripes on the sides. They prefer to live in groups in rocky areas or burrows dug in grasslands, and their diet consists mainly of seeds and fruits.

It weighs between 3.3 and 7.5 pounds, stands between 9.4 and 14.2 inches tall at the shoulder, and has a tail length of 9.1 to 12.2 inches. It prefers to live in flat desert habitats and can live for several months without water.

V. Moore's Gecko

These reptiles usually live in urban areas and are about 5.91 inches long. They are mainly active at night, but sometimes during the day. In urban areas, they can be found in tree trunks, narrow places, ruins, etc. Their diet consists mainly of insects.

Intransitive verb bighorn wild sheep

This is a subspecies of wild sheep. Males have horns and females may or may not have horns. The horns of adult rams are about 33 inches long and the average weight of rams is 110 pounds, while the average weight of females is about 77 pounds. Currently listed as an endangered species due to overhunting, females have a gestation period of 5 months.

Seven. Crown Porcupine

Rodents that range in length from 24 inches to 33 inches. On average, an adult species weighs between 29 and 60 pounds. Most of these terrestrial animals are herbivores. Occasionally, carrion, small vertebrates, and insects are also part of their diet.

Eight. Egyptian mongoose. Also known as ICHNEUMON

This species has an elongated body, ranging from 19 to 24 inches in length, and weighs between 3.7 and 8.8 pounds. Forests, bushes, or grasslands are their habitats. They have sharp teeth and feed on the flesh of rodents, insects, reptiles, and amphibians. Eggs and fruits are also part of the diet. They do not mix with snakes.

IX. Barbary macaque

This is a real monkey. The female is about 21.9 inches long and the male is about 25.0 inches long. The male is slightly larger, weighing about 32 pounds, and the female is about 21.8 pounds and can have a tail between 0.15 inches and 0.87 inches. These animals live in different habitats, such as grasslands, rocks, forests, etc.

X. The hedgehog of North Africa

This diminutive animal has a body length between 7.87 and 9.84 inches. This mysterious animal has large ears and a light-colored face and its head and legs are brown. They cannot survive in arid conditions, so they mostly live in the mixed forest climate of North Africa. Females are pregnant for 30 to 40 days and have three to 10 liters each.
