Hawking's 6 horrific prophecies: 3 of them are playing out, why warn people to mess with aliens?

Hawking's 6 horrific prophecies

By Prince of SciencePublished 2 years ago 5 min read

Stephen Hawking, known as an outstanding theoretical physicist after Einstein, was born on January 8, 1942, the 300th anniversary of Galileo's death.

On March 14, 2018, a spokesman for the Hawking family said that Hawking died at the age of 76.

Hawking's life is very legendary. When he was 21 years old, he suffered from a rare ALS. He was plagued by the disease for most of his life. He was almost paralyzed. A movable finger communicates with people.

When Hawking was diagnosed with ALS, doctors didn't think he would live past his 25th birthday, as most patients with the disease are discovered after the age of 50 and die of the disease within five years of diagnosis.

And Hawking not only miraculously lived for more than half a century in the horrific disease curse of ALS, becoming one of the most famous physicists of our time, but also has three children with his wife Jane Wilder.

Hawking, who has devoted his life to exploring the mysteries of the universe, has repeatedly challenged human imagination with his amazing predictions. So what jaw-dropping predictions did he make during his lifetime?

Hawking's prediction 1: Artificial intelligence may lead to the demise of mankind

Hawking, who is in a wheelchair, lost his language ability and the only tool to communicate with people is a computer voice synthesizer. Although Hawking's life cannot be separated from artificial intelligence, he is very worried about the unlimited development of artificial intelligence.

Hawking believes that artificial intelligence can solve most of the world's problems, including human diseases, social problems, etc., but human beings develop AI without restrictions. If deployed improperly, once it is out of control, it will threaten the survival of human beings.

Hawking declared that in the next 100 years, humans will face the challenge of artificial intelligence smarter than themselves, smart machines can replace the jobs humans are doing, and quickly eliminate millions of jobs.

In this way, human beings are limited by evolution and will not be able to compete with them. He believes that the development of artificial intelligence needs to be controlled. If it does not work completely according to human consciousness, it may lead to the demise of human beings.

Hawking's prediction 2: "Aliens" may exist

On April 25, 2010, the American "Discovery" channel broadcast a series of popular science documentaries "Understanding the Universe with Hawking". In this series of documentaries, Hawking proposed that aliens may exist.

Hawking calculated the conclusion of the existence of aliens from a mathematical point of view. He believed that there are 100 billion galaxies in the universe, and each galaxy contains hundreds of millions of stars. The universe is so big that the earth cannot be the only planet with life.

Hawking is very worried about the safety of human beings, claiming that "aliens" may not be friendly, and repeatedly warned humans not to provoke them, let alone greet them.

Hawking explained: "If aliens visit Earth, the consequences will be very similar to when Columbus arrived in the Americas, which is not a good thing for the Native Americans at that time."

Since it is currently impossible to know what form of extraterrestrial life exists in, Hawking reminds humans not to try to contact these life, the result may be catastrophic for human beings, aliens may attack the earth and plunder the earth's resources and then fly away .

Hawking's prophecy 3: Humanity faces an existential crisis

Hawking was very pessimistic about human rationality and the unstoppable force of nature, and believed that human beings could not survive into the next millennium.

He believes that human beings will face a severe existential crisis in the future, and the earth will become an unsuitable place for all animals to live due to problems such as nuclear war, greenhouse effect or environmental pollution.

Hawking said that if humans want to survive, they must move to other planets.

Hawking's 4th prediction: Earth will turn into a flaming fireball

Hawking said: "Humanity has entered an increasingly dangerous period and has experienced many life-and-death events. Due to the genetic code of 'selfishness and greed' carried in human genes, human beings have plundered the earth more and more. Resources are running out little by little..."

As the Earth's population grows, energy consumption will increase, and the planet will eventually become unbearable and will be destroyed within 1,000 years by some cataclysm turning into a blazing fireball.

Hawking also emphasized again that human beings cannot put all their eggs in one basket. The best way is to explore the possibility of human beings living on other planets. If they move to space within 200 years, they may be able to avoid disaster.

Hawking Prediction 5: Genetically modified technology will bring devastating disaster to mankind

Hawking believes that biological rather than physical fields will bring the greatest challenges to human beings. Unlike nuclear weapons research, which requires huge facilities, transgenic research can be done in a small laboratory.

Humans cannot control all the laboratories in the world, and the danger that may be encountered in the future is that, either accidentally or deliberately, we ourselves create some kind of virus that will destroy human beings one day.

Hawking Prediction 6: Humans can finally achieve time travel

Hawking believed that there are holes or cracks in everything in the universe, and so does time.

He called the narrow tunnels that exist in the universe connecting two different space-times as wormholes (space-time holes). In the future, humans may be able to capture a wormhole and enlarge it enough to allow humans and even spaceships to pass through. .

But Hawking warned: Even if time travel is possible in the future, never go back to the past, otherwise the structure of time will be disturbed, and the consequences will be unimaginable.

Three prophecies are playing out

While many of Hawking's remarks are quite surprising, we have to admit at the moment that three prophecies are playing out.

The safety of genetically modified products has attracted more and more attention, not only a scientific issue, but also a social issue.

Artificial intelligence is developing at a crazy speed, and some people even allow artificial intelligence to control their own lives, ranging from a smartphone to an automation device in a factory. Today's world is full of a lot of unemployment, and even invented "Robot Wife"...

For the future of the planet, Hawking refers to disasters including war, depletion of resources, overpopulation, etc., which are all expanding threats.

With the deteriorating environment, the continuous consumption of resources, and the overpopulation and other problems becoming more and more prominent, it is indeed unknown how many years the earth can support human beings, and the survival of human beings is faced with severe challenges.

No matter what, what we can do at present is to protect the earth on which we live, be kind to the earth, and be kind to life!
