Years And Years
A Playlist Of Songs With "Year" or "Years" in their titles

Introduction
This is a companion piece to my last Beat piece, which you can check out here.
So we will kick off unexpectedly with the Muppets.
Statler and Waldorf - "It Was a Very Good Year" from "The Muppet Show"
Although Frank Sinatra is better known for this, this is my favourite version; it always makes me laugh.
Steely Dan - "Reelin' In The Years" from "Can't Buy A Thrill"
A friend once said that they were the most boring brilliant band in the world, and I could see where he was coming from, but I have a lot of their albums and love lots of their music. Their name comes from a steam-powered dildo in William Burroughs' book, "The Naked Lunch", and they had some kind of naming battle with Steeleye Span.
Al Stewart - "Year Of The Cat" Title Track of Eponymous Album
This might be the first Al Stewart song that I heard, which led me to discover so many of his wonderful historical songs covering the whole world and many timeframes.
Here is the story of this song
The Yardbirds - "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago" from "Roger The Engineer"
This featured Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page on twin guitars, and I believe Eric Clapton was in the band at some point.
Mike and the Mechanics - "The Living Years" Title Track of Eponymous Album
Mike Rutherford's sadness at losing his father, a bit too sentimental for my liking.
David Bowie - "Golden Years" from "Station To Station"
One of my many favourite David Bowie albums, and I loved it when this song was used in "A Knight's Tale" (a great fun film), which inspired this poem from me (which includes the video segment).
Noah And The Whale - "Five Years Time" from "Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down"
This is a truly gorgeous song, and I made a Noah and the Whale playlist which you can check out here:
Hawklords - "25 Years" Title Track of Eponymous Album
This is the final song; that is eight with "Year" or "Years" in the title. I hope you found a few you liked and maybe some you want to hear more of.
Thank you for reading and listening.
