"Star Trek: Discovery" Fails to Justify Michael Burnham as Starfleet's Finest
In the swirling vortex of "Star Trek: Discovery," a curious narrative emerges, one that hails Michael Burnham as the end-all, be-all of Starfleet captains. A cacophony of voices sings her praises, lauding her as the pinnacle of the franchise's greatness. But let's pump the brakes on this hyperspace journey for a moment and take a closer look at the warp core.In the grand scheme of the Star Trek universe, Michael Burnham's journey, while captivating in its own right, pales in comparison to the legends that have come before her. Her path to leadership, marked by controversy and personal struggle, veers sharply away from the traditional narratives of Starfleet captains like Jean-Luc Picard or James T. Kirk.

Love is Blind: My faves
Like most women and men, I have fallen victim to the Love is Blind franchise and I binged the entire 6th season while on vacation this last week. I thought since the reunion they included all past couples from the show, I would write about them in this article. Most of these people are women, but keep in mind this is not some feminist post, it just happens that most of my favorite people just happen to be women. I will be providing a brief explanation of why I like these people; this will not be in any particular order. Anyways, here we go to kick off I will be starting with Deepti.
Love is Blind: Toxic People
Yes, like every woman in North America I had fallen into the trap of Love is Blind, it's so juicy and so bad all at the same time. First, I will be voicing my opinion on the whole concept of Love is Blind. I do not believe that love is blind, I do not judge how a person looks right away, however, I was judging their employment status first and then their looks, because I needed a man with a stable job, which I am happy to announce I did. Anyway, I do not believe love is blind because looks matter to a certain degree I would not be married to my man if I did not find him attractive and that's the reality. You may call me out and say that I am "superficial" and I am not a "good person", but this is my opinion, and it belongs to me. Anyways, let's make this about the cast of Love is Blind.

At long last! A pop music video that doesn't pretend to be or do anything other than what it is and does: be mindless, decadent fodder that aims to entertain. And, well, sell beer and cigarettes.
Sh*t I Could Watch Over and Over and Do # 2
When I was about thirteen, the Beastie Boys were the baddest motherf*ckers to ever pick up a mic and go boom. Everybody in the State Adolescent Unit/dungeon I was living at LOVED License to Ill, and it was the most popular AUDIOCASSETTE TAPE (!) on the ward, much passed around and quoted. Dates me, doesn't it?
Strong Women
Growing up, one of the things that resonated the most with me in the Avatar the Last Air Bender series was the amount of intelligent, brave, and strong female characters in the show. In most shows, female characters are lackluster or fit into a box, leaving me to favor a male character instead. Avatar broke down gender roles and easily gave me my favorite female characters in a way that was organic and reflective of my own struggles as a girl carving my place in society. They were not afraid to make their female characters more than we are often told we can be. And, they did it simply because women (girls) are more than the flat archetypes they have been ascribed too over and over.
