Introduction When I heard Stephen King liked this, I thought I would take a look. The man has excellent taste. When I saw that the main actor was Tatiana Maslany, I knew I had to watch it. I have loved her ever since her incredible performance in "Orphan Black"

The Most Overrated. Runner-Up in The Most Overrated Challenge.
I've been dreading this topic for one big reason: I've always believed that liking or disliking a book comes down to personal taste. I enjoy plenty of things that would make most people shake their heads. I really don't want to yuck anyone's yum — which is exactly why it pains me to say this: ACOTAR did not live up to the hype my sisters swore by.

Train Dreams
The reviews were good, and it received 4 Academy Award nominations, among other awards. It was streaming, so my husband sat beside me, and we watched Train Dreams , starring Joel Edgerton. It is touted as an extraordinary story of an unremarkable life. Really, though, is any life so ordinary when we examine it closely?

House of Dragon, S3, yawn
Game of Thrones was an enthralling HBO series with characters you grew to love, only to have the writers kill them off. I gasped aloud when Ned Stark was beheaded. His daughter, Arya, was a fighter and survived many challenges. Cersei was so evil I wanted to strangle her and her horrid son myself. She was so cruel and cunning, yet I felt sorry for her during her naked walk of shame. Tyrion Lannister was always fun to watch and see the scheming he did. Cersei was cruel to him, her brother.

No Redemption for Andy Dufresne
The Shawshank Redemption is one of those films that sits comfortably in the upper echelons of the movie talkie colour picture. It's become shorthand for the greatest film ever made—or GOAT, as the kids insist on calling it.

I've written a novella!
I've accidentally written a novella. Let me explain. I wanted to write a serialised story. Vocal lends itself to this very well with the way that you can publish instantaneously and my idea was to write a seven part story, releasing a new part every day over a week so that there was no delay between chapters and the momentum was always there. It seemed like a good length.

Flame on Snow
Flame on Snow The fire had burned low in the brazier, casting long ribbons of amber across the silken tent walls. Outside, the winter wind howled over the high steppes, but within, time moved slower. Softer. The chill could not reach them here.

My Self-Critique of My Writing Battle Entry (Part Deux)
This is a breakdown of my most recent entry into the Writing Battle that didn’t make it out of the peer judging round. I recommend reading it before you dive into my self-critique of why it doesn’t work because nothing says, “Hey go read this!” quite like leading off with, "Hey this didn’t actually place so it might not be very good!”
