Original Quantum Leap vs. Quantum Leap 2023

Still a good show

I enjoyed both the original Quantum Leap and the new one. One criticism of the new one I disagree with is when they complain about Ben Sung travelling outside his lifetime but Sam Beckett di travel outside his lifetime on one occasion and the show explained how Ben Sung was able todo so. Also the computer would have been upgraded after 30 years. In both shows all the characters are likeable.

The thing that gets me about the new quantum leap is that they, like many modern movies and TV shows, go out of their way to make it look like men no longer exist, especially white men. If you see them then they are in the background. People like to point out how in the past shows mainly had white men but this is no the past and we are not responsible for what anyone did back then. Finally, even in the past many shows had women and minorities and even had them in positive positions; shows such as the Original Star Trek, The Incredible Hulk and many more. Sanford and Son was a predominately black show and they had Whites, Asians and Hispanics on the show and even had them in positive roles By not having men, and white men they are not writing and wrongs but increasing bitterness and giving the MAGA cult and their ilk more things to attack. It makes Wokeness look anti-white and anti-male. They are basically fighting racism with racism and exclusion with more exclusion.

Most shows and movies cannot make a strong female character or lead without making the men weak or whiny. They the women in these movies and shows have that, "I need no man," attitude which you will never see a, "I need no woman," attitude from strong male characters but luckily the new quantum leap doesn't do that. Now Ben Sung is a shell of Sam Beckett. Sam Beckett spoke several languages, had several degrees and knew martial arts while Ben Sung only had a physics degree in quantum physics. Both are likeable characters though.

There was an episode of America's Most Wanted were a white woman moved into an African American neighborhood and claimed she liked the diversity but how is having one race diverse? People have called the new Quantum Leap diverse but again there are no whites which will cause a lot of people to reason that diversity simply means no white people. As mentioned about, all the older Star Treks were diverse and so was Sanford and Son, The Incredible Hulk and so many more older shows. It's a shame that many shows want to exclude men, and women are constantly making anti-male videos and talking about eradicating men. Those videos stay up but the few men saying similar things get deleted as both should.

If you listen to the supporters and creators of these shows such as Quantum Leap they think it is a badge of honor to anger people but how would they respond if a Steve Bannon or Andrew Tate type made similar movies or TV shows geared towards minorities or women? As many have pointed out including actors, is that Hollywood no longer has any creativity left.

I do enjoy the new Quantum Leap and hope hope the show is on for many more seasons. I one the original as well as the first season of the new Quantum Leap. Personally I liked season one's story and I hope they continue their hard work. The actors did a wonderful job but I hope the producers and creators grow a backbone and add a few men and a few white men. I hope you enjoyed this article.
