Woman Angry Paraplegic Boyfriend Stopped Her From Smoking Meth Pushed Him out of Car & Left Him to Die in Cold

A tragic accident left 11-year-old Troymaine Johnson paralyzed and wheelchair-dependent. He never allowed his disability to stop him from living his best life. He had an amazing personality and could charm the socks off anyone. He had many close friends, loved music, and hoped to become an accomplished rap star one day. His dreams fell apart after meeting a domineering, meth-addicted woman named Ruby "Katie" Coursey.

The pair met in 2017. Katie, 27, and Troymaine, 33, quickly sparked a romance. She loved music as much as he did. As an aspiring musician herself, Katie appreciated the connection they formed.

After the two made their relationship official, Katie dropped the act and showed her true personality. She was angry, jealous, and possessive. She demanded that Troymaine share his location with her every minute of the day because otherwise, she would accuse him of cheating.

Katie picked arguments with Troymaine over trivial matters. Every day, her behavior became more erratic. He had no idea that she was addicted to crystal meth.

On March 14, 2017, Katie told Troymaine she was taking him shopping but instead drove to a party where guests were using meth. Troymaine did not bring along his wheelchair, rendering him immobile. Katie then revealed her drug addiction to her boyfriend.

Troymaine wanted no part of the drugs or of being at the party, but Katie refused to drive him home. He called the police.

Police arrived and spoke to Katie, who finally agreed to take Troymaine home. By now, Katie was angry at Troymaine. Not only did he disrupt time she could have spent smoking meth, but he also called the cops.

Katie Throws Troymaine Out of the Car, Leaves Him to Die in Cold

Amid a drug-fueled rage, Katie drove Troymaine to a secluded wooded area in Upson County, Georgia, took his phone, and pushed him out of the car. Katie left him on the ground and headed back to the party.

Temperatures in March in Upson County usually rise above freezing, but that particular week brought unusually low temperatures in the mid-20s during the night.

Troymaine lay in the spot where Katie threw him out of the car for nearly three days before he froze to death alone in the woods.

In the early morning hours of March 17, 2017, Katie called a relative and told them what she had done. The shocked relative could not believe what she had heard.

That relative called the police.

When officers reached out to Katie, she admitted what she had done, although she claimed she did not remember the exact location where she dumped Troymaine. Detectives began searching the fields for Troymaine, hopeful he was still alive.

Their hopes were demolished when Troymaine's body was found at about 1:20 a.m. near a hunting camp. An autopsy later determined that Troymaine died from exposure.

Katie Arrested; Charged With Troymaine's Death

Police picked Katie up on charges of probation violation, but did not immediately arrest her in Troymaine's death since his body did not show any obvious signs of trauma.

Katie was later charged with felony neglect of a disabled adult and felony murder. She was sentenced to life in prison.
