These laws are designed to implement stiffer penalties for anyone who knowingly and wilfully provides driving while intoxicated (DWI). Various agencies such drug testing agency in Traverse city, drug testing agency in Florida, Ohio drug testing Consortium INC conduct these tests, as There are also several laws that are intended to protect people from impaired drivers on public roads and highways. Unfortunately not all of these laws are written equally or for the same population or age group of drivers. The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is responsible for implementing and enforcing all state laws regarding DWI and the DUI laws that govern those convicted of DWI.

Why driver alcohol test is important -

Drivers younger than 21 can legally drive commercial motor vehicles but may be required to get a valid driver's license from the DMV. Those who are caught driving a commercial motor vehicle while intoxicated can face huge fines and possible jail time. Some people will choose to go the road without a license while they are learning. However, these drivers risk the possibility of receiving a large fine if they are caught at any point. The consequences of driving while intoxicated are great and should not be taken lightly.

Many drivers assume that they are above the legal age to consume alcohol, but this is not true. Under Ohio law anyone over the age of 21 can be subjected to a drug testing regime. In fact, if caught the driver can face jail time, heavy fines and even temporary drivers license suspensions.

If a driver is involved in an accident and tests positive for alcohol or any other controlled substance, the results are immediately reported to the DMV by the police or other law enforcement agencies. Within eight hours of the accident the driver must obtain an Alcohol Testing Diploma. If it is determined that the driver has consumed any controlled substance during the accident then the driver will be required to obtain an AISD Driving Information Certification, otherwise known as the DIS. Once you pass your test then you will be issued a certificate stating that you have completed the alcohol treatment program.

Legalities -

If the motor vehicle accident caused minor or no injuries to other people or damage to property, then liability insurance is not required. However, the coverage will increase if liability insurance was in fact purchased. For those drivers that do have to purchase the insurance, there are a number of options. One option is to purchase a policy through a specific carrier. Many people prefer to purchase insurance through a carrier since this allows them the convenience of having the policy in the same place as their insurance policy. While some companies may offer coverage outside of their own plan, other carriers will only cover their alcohol use related activities within their plan.

If a mro will be performed by a state licensed and trained technician then the results can be immediately reported to the Department of Motor Vehicles. If a state licensed and trained technician does perform a drug test on a driver then a letter of refusal can be given to the driver stating that the drug test is not consistent with what the driver has been told. This is called a "BOL". If a state licensed and trained technician detects a drug in a driver's blood then the BOL must be continued. A certified notice will be mailed to the driver notifying them of their failure to meet the requirements of the BOL.
